If you’re a fan of Steam like I am, you may be wondering if there are any ways to get free Steam wallet codes for games.
Well, the good news is that there is; however, it will take some work on your end. Don’t worry, though. It will only take a few minutes of your time and you won’t have to spend a dime. As long as you can set aside a few minutes of your day, I will show you how you can get free Steam codes legally.
As in all of my guides, I’m 100% honest and would never recommend something I wouldn’t use myself.
With that being said, let’s take a gander at the many options you can take advantage of right now. Best of all, you can get started immediately!
How Do You Get Free Steam Codes for Games?
Swagbucks
By far, this is your best option. If you’re not familiar with this platform, you just answer questions and earn money for your time. You can perform other short tasks as well, such as signing up for an offer or watching a video. It doesn’t take long at all and you can earn $10 easily in one day.
The great thing about it is that you can start right now and the surveys are almost never-ending. I mean, take a look at my dashboard…
Once you earn enough “SB,” referred to as Swagbucks on the platform, you can then cash out for a Steam code. Each “SB” is worth $0.01 so that 4,500 SB survey is worth 45.
Steam codes are just one of the hundreds of rewards you can take advantage of. So, even if you don’t want a Steam code, you can always cash out for other rewards, including Amazon gift cards and PayPal cash.
Joining is 100% free and you can even get a $5 bonus for joining. Just follow the link below.

PrizeRebel
PrizeRebel is one I have reviewed in the past. And, just like Swagbucks, it works in the same way, offering “points” in exchange for your answers.
While these points can be converted into points, the cool thing about PrizeRebel is that you can redeem from hundreds of gift card options, including Steam codes if that’s what you want.
The website is extremely easy to use and you can get started in seconds. It shouldn’t be too hard to earn a few dollars in the next hour or so.

InstaGC
InstaGC is one I promote often, mostly due to being able to get your gift card instantly. Plus, you only need $1 to cash out, a rarity in the survey world. If you want your Steam card in the next hour or so, then this is one to consider and put high on your list.
To earn your free Steam codes, all you need to do is answer some questions and/or complete offers. It’s up to you, but they work with a ton of providers, so you can keep busy for quite some time. The website is very easy to use.
I have played around with this site for about a year now and can earn about $5 to $8~ an hour if I work at it. Your results will vary, however.

InboxDollars
InboxDollars is operated by the same company as Swagbucks, Prodege.
And, while the company works in a similar way, InboxDollars doesn’t use a points system. Instead, you will know exactly how much you will earn.
You will still get rewarded primarily in answering survey questions, but there are other options as well. When you do get enough to cash out, you can choose to get paid cash, but you can choose a Steam gift card if you choose to do so.
Joining is 100% free, and like Swagbucks, InboxDollars will also give you a cool $5 for joining!

Mistplay
If you want to play games and earn free Steam codes, then you’re in luck as Mistplay can help this happen.
I know it sounds too good to be true, but I promise it isn’t. All you need to do is download the app (linked below), choose a game that seems of interest, and then follow the directions to get rewarded. In some cases, you may have to play a game and reach a level or you may have to play for a few minutes before you’re credited.
Nonetheless, this is an awesome way to get rewarded for testing out new games.

Bananatic
Bananatic is one I have mentioned a few times and reminds me of Mistplay, where you can get rewarded to test and play games.
To earn “bananas,” the game’s currency, create an account and then log in to see the many ways you can earn. Most of your money comes from completing game quests, but you can earn in other ways as well, such as watching commercials, downloading apps and even shopping. You won’t be bored, I promise you that much!
This is a great alternative if you want to break away from the typical surveys and app downloads. It’s very unique!

GrabPoints
GrabPoints is one that works just like Swagbucks and the like. Simply take surveys, watch videos and/or complete offers to earn free gift cards, including Steam.
I did review GrabPoints in the past and did find them to be one of the higher paying survey sites. This is something they tend to boast on their website, so just know that it is true most of the time. It just depends on which offers/surveys you complete.
GrabPoints is 100% free and has hundreds of gift card options to choose from, not just Steam codes.

AppNana
AppNana is one of the most popular ways to make money with your phone. It works a lot like Swagbucks, only that it’s solely for your phone.
Earning what are known as Nanas, the app will reward you anytime you download an app/game and test it out. You can also earn points just for checking into the app. The app primarily focuses on downloading and testing new apps, however.
As I write this, they rewarded more than $10 million in gift cards. It holds a solid 4.3/5 rating on the Google Play store.

Idle-Empire
I found Idle-Empire in my search and it appears to work much like the websites I mentioned prior. You can earn points through surveys, offers, videos and even “mining” your computer resources.
After you collect the necessary number of points, you can choose a Steam Wallet code if that’s what you want to use your points on. The website states you will usually get your points within 24 hours.
To date, they have more than 500,000 members, paying out more than $1.2 million in rewards. Joining is 100% free.

Follow the FreeGamesOnSteam SubReddit
This one won’t require any work at all, but you will be limited in what you can download to your account.
If you’re a Reddit user, follow the FreeGamesOnSteam subreddit to see what games are free for the time being. It’s as easy as scrolling the most recent posts and then adding them to your Steam account.
While there’s a lot of junk out there, you may find a gem here and there. Again, if you don’t want to work for your Steam codes, this is one to consider checking out ASAP!

Sell on the Steam Community Market
Take a look at the Steam Market and see if you can sell any of your in-game items. In some cases, you could earn anywhere from a few pennies to more than a few dollars.
If you successfully sell something, Steam credits you with that amount, adding the funds to your Steam Wallet.
Take a look at the official guide linked below to learn more about how the market works.

Try to Win a Free Steam Wallet Codes Giveaway
This one will take a pinch of luck, but you can at least throw your name in a hat.
Whether you want to use a website that helps you find giveaways or you want to use Google to your advantage, there’s almost always a raffle going on that can maybe win you a Steam gift card. You can even check out the very popular Steam giveaway subreddit.
To find them, either check out the more than 40+ websites that help you win free stuff and/or use Google, searching for terms such as “Steam gift card giveaway.” In doing this, just make sure you filter your results so that you only see the results from the past week. That way, you know the raffle hasn’t expired yet.
Scam Warning: The Steam Code Generator
While it may be tempting to take the easy street and just press a button for a free code, these generators do not work. They just generate a random string of numbers, enough to satisfy the code requirements in hopes that one works.
The odds of this happening?
Well, as you can imagine, the odds are not in your favor. So, if you find a website that claims it can get you Steam codes via a generator, it just isn’t true. Don’t fall for it!
If it were that easy, I think everyone would be on the bandwagon, right?
Final Thoughts
If you’re looking for free Steam codes, it is possible, however, as I mentioned, it will take a pinch of work. Generally, as long as you have a few hours in a day, it shouldn’t be hard to earn at least $10 to $20+. It just depends on the company you sign up with and which surveys you take.
For now, sign up for a few of the sites mentioned and see which ones work best for you. What you’re going to find out is that some will work better for you than will for me. Seeing they are all free to join, you have nothing to lose and can always cancel if you don’t like what you see!
As always, you’re more than welcome to leave a comment below. Let me know if you have tried any of the websites I used and/or have one you’d like to recommend.
