Mindswarms is an app that allows you to record 40 to 60 second videos of yourself when responding to a survey question. Unlike most survey sites that require you to answer questions as you would a test, Mindswarms is a breath of fresh air, seeing you don’t have to write anything nor do you have to click through a lot of pages. It’s a lot different than most if you’re bored of the traditional survey websites.
Whether you want to earn more money taking surveys online or you’re researching how Mindswarms works, I wanted to let you know everything about it in today’s review. As in all of my reviews, I’m 100% honest, only recommending what I feel is worth your time.
Let’s begin!
What is Mindswarms?
Mindswarms, as noted in the intro, requires you to record your survey answers in video form. As long as you don’t mind recording yourself, you shouldn’t have a problem using the app. All surveys offered through the app require you to record, so if you’re uncomfortable with the idea of this, I would highly recommend you skip this option and consider something else.
The company was founded in 2008 and is privately held, based in San Francisco, California. According to the company’s LinkedIn page, it’s the ” fastest way to get consumer insights that help the world’s leading brands innovate.”
Is Mindswarms legit?
Indeed, the company is 100% legitimate, so there’s no worry about not getting paid.
Getting Started
At the moment, the Mindswarms is available via the Google Play or iTunes store. You can also take surveys via a desktop, but I find it much easier to do so on your phone since you can directly record from your phone. However, if you do use the desktop, you will have to use your webcam and microphone for it to work.
To get started, you will have to provide them with your basic personal information, such as your name, country, age, etc.
It isn’t much and will take you a minute at most to complete. After you complete this profile, you can access your dashboard right away.
Mindswarms is open to members worldwide as long as you’re older than 13. If you’re younger than 18, but older than 13, you will need parental/guardian consent to join. It’s 100% free to join.
Mindswarms Surveys
After you join, the company will ask you to record a profile video so that you can qualify for future studies. You have to complete the profile video in order to qualify and you won’t get paid for it. During this study, you will be asked to speak for about 30 seconds, letting them know what you’re “passionate” about in life. The company does provide you with a “tip” video to ensure that your responses are approved.
Once Mindswarms approves your profile video, usually which takes about 48 hours or so, you can immediately see survey invites listed on your dashboard. All surveys are about 40 to 60 seconds, that’s it.
When it comes to surveys, you will see two different types.
First, you will have the “one question” type survey, which you will just answer one question, that’s it. As mentioned, this will take up to 60 seconds of your time, and of course, you will have to record yourself during the process.
The other option involves multiple questions, which, as you guess, has up to 10 questions. These surveys tend to pay more, and each question takes 60 seconds at most. These surveys typically revolve around a product, where you will be asked to share your thoughts.
If any of the surveys are of interest to you, you can apply to the study and then wait for an acceptance email. You won’t qualify immediately like most survey websites, so you will have to have some patience.
Mindswarms Pay
As mentioned, there are only two types of surveys you can take, a one answer survey or multiple surveys. The longer the survey, the more you can make.
On average, you can make $10 for a one-question survey, whereas a multiple question survey can pay you up to $50. This is a very high reward value in comparison to most survey companies. In fact, I would say it’s one of the highest.
However, just because the website can pay up to $50, don’t get too excited, as the survey invites are very low. I’m talking maybe one invite a week, maybe less than this. And, even if you see a survey invite, it doesn’t mean it’s yours, as you will have to apply and get accepted. This acceptance rate can be low as well.
What I’m saying is don’t expect to make much, maybe $10 to $50 a month, if that. Depending on your answers and demographics, you could make more or less than this.
Rewards
All respondents will get paid within 24 hours with PayPal, with payments typically in the $50 for every 10 60-second questions you answer. This seems to be the average, so you can make more or sometimes less.
At the moment, PayPal is the only option, so if you don’t have a PayPal account, you won’t be able to use the app.
The nice thing about Mindswarms is that they don’t use a points nor a currency type of section. Instead, you get paid after you complete your answers, usually which takes 24 hours or so. The company does note that if you don’t see a payment within 24 hours that you contact them.
Final Thoughts
7/10If you’re comfortable recording yourself and don’t mind checking in to see what’s available, I feel the survey invites are worth your time, seeing most pay at least $10. This is very high in comparison to most survey sites I talk about. Even if you complete on multiple choice survey in one day, that’s enough to maybe earn $50.The company is legit, but you won’t see many invites. And, even if you do, you may not even get accepted, just keep that in mind.
That’s going to do it for now.
