20+ Paid Online Surveys Available in South Africa

If you live in South Africa and you’re looking for paid online surveys, then look no further as there are many companies to consider.

In today’s guide, I wanted to talk about the many legitimate paid survey companies out there that can make you decent money in South Africa.  Granted, you won’t get rich, but I believe you can make a few dollars a day with minimal effort.  I say as long as you have this mindset, paid surveys can make for a great way to buy a dinner or two.  Just don’t expect to quit your day job.

As in all of my guides, every company I mention is 100% legitimate, so you can be assured that if you sign up with any of the companies mentioned below, you will get paid.

Paid Surveys in South Africa

Superpay.me

Payout threshold: $1 (PayPal, Amazon, Skrill)

As one of my favorite GPT options, Superpay.me is open to all.  The thing I like about this company is that they work with a lot of third-party providers and they have some of the highest payouts in the industry.  The website can seem overwhelming at first, but once you get the hang of it, you can earn more than average.  You only need $1 to cash out, and once you qualify, you can immediately get your payments via PayPal.  Even if you don’t get an instant payout, they do have an eight hour payout promise, making it one of the fastest paying options on the list.

Cointiply

Payout threshold: $3.50 (crypto like Litecoin and Bitcoin)

Cointiply is unique in that it only pays out via cryptocurrencies.  If you’re cool with that, then you may want to sign up to start earning.  Like the many I mention on this list, you can earn by taking surveys, playing games, partaking in offers and even betting on your winnings if you really want to test your luck.  You do need at least $3.50 to cash out, but this shouldn’t take long seeing there’s so much to do.

Cinchbucks

Payout threshold: $10 (PayPal, gift cards and crypto)

Cinchbucks isn’t as popular as much here, mainly due to the usability and number of options, but as in most of my guides, I try to include as much as I can.  Surveys are the main way to earn money here, but you can also take part in the offers section, which, at first glance, seem to have a decent number of options as well.  The company pays out in either PayPal, gift cards or Bitcoin once you hit $10 in rewards.

Enlighten

Payout threshold: 50 Rand ($3~) ( gift cards)

Enlighten is a legitimate survey panel designed solely for those residing in South Africa.  It’s as simple as the many noted here, where you simply answer survey questions in exchange for rewards.  The only downfall, however, is that they only offer gift cards as an option, so if you’re good with that, it’s one to consider.  The survey invites are slim, so I don’t think you will make much.  However, if you want to join as many as possible, it’s one to consider.

FeaturePoints

Payout threshold: $5 (PayPal, gift cards and crypto)

FeaturePoints has both a highly rated app as well as a desktop version.  Whichever option you choose, you can earn cash via surveys, videos and even downloading app.  They are open to South African users, but you may not see as many options as other countries, but I can’t stress that this is very common for most research companies.  You only need $5 in points, which is very easy to accomplish in no time.  Payout methods include PayPal, gift cards and even Bitcoin.

Freecash

Payout threshold: $0.10 (PayPal, gift cards and crypto)

As I write this, Freecash has more than 1,300 offers available, with its higher offer paying more than $127.  It’s one of the newer ones I have mentioned lately, but they do seem to have potential.  Opened to South African users, you can make money taking part in paid surveys, contests and even offers.  The great thing is that you only need $0.10 in rewards to cash out, which means you can do so in minutes.  By far, this is one of the lowest thresholds on the market.

GrabPoints

Payout threshold: $5 (PayPal and 100+ gift cards)

GrabPoints is open to users worldwide and networks with a myriad of third-party survey/offer providers.  Most of your money will be earned via surveys and offers, but you can find additional ways to earn, even though it won’t be as much.  This includes downloading apps, completing micro tasks as well as watching videos.  GrabPoints is extremely easy to use and you only need $5 to cash out, which shouldn’t take you long at all.  With a ton of reward options, there’s something for everyone.

InstaGC

Payout threshold: $1 (PayPal and 100+ gift cards)

As the name implies, InstaGC will reward you instantly once you hit at least $1 in rewards.  It’s open worldwide, and like some mentioned here, they work with so many reputable third-party providers that offer surveys, offer walls and more.  There seems to be a decent amount of options for South Africa.  As one of the quickest ways to earn, I would keep this one high on your list.  You can get started immediately.

LifePoints

Payout threshold: $10 (PayPal and gift cards)

LifePoints has a panel specifically for South Africa residents, which means every money-making opportunity you see will be designed for your demographic.  All you need to do, like the most mentioned here, is sign up and then wait for email invitations.  Whenever you see an invite come in, click on the survey link to start earning cash.  Most surveys pay about $0.25 to $1+, usually depending on the duration.  Once you hit $10 in rewards, you can cash out for gift cards or have the money sent to your PayPal account.

Mobrog

Payout threshold: $6.50 (PayPal and Skrill)

Mobrog is another highly searched for company for South African users, and one of the main reasons is simply because they offer a ton of survey opportunities.  The company will send out survey invites to your email, so be on the lookout to act fast.  You won’t qualify for all of them, unfortunately, but this can be said about any research company.  Once you hit $6.25 in earnings, you can cash out either via PayPal or Skrill.

myiyo

Payout threshold: $20 (PayPal)

myiyo is an international community that’s open to South African users.  The company was founded in 2004 and has grown into more than one million members to this date.  As a member, you will take surveys and get rewarded for your time.  You can also earn money when you refer a friend as well as earn bonus points when you complete your initial profile.  The company pays cash to your PayPal account and you will need at least 20,000 points to do so, which is equivalent to $20 in rewards.

PrizeRebel

Payout threshold: $5 (PayPal and 100+ gift cards)

PrizeRebel is one of the larger companies on the list, boasting more than 12 million members.  The company focuses more so on the U.S., UK, Canada and Australia, but they said if you live outside these countries, it shouldn’t deter you from joining.  If you live in South Africa, you can join, but you just won’t find a ton of survey/offer opportunities in comparison to the countries mentioned prior.

Rewards1

Payout threshold: $5 (PayPal and gift cards)

Rewards1 isn’t as well known as the many listed here, but I wanted to include it here as it is one to check out.  You can earn money taking surveys, watching videos, partaking in offers as well as even testing your luck in contests.  You only need $5 to cash out and you can do so via PayPal or from a variety of gift cards.  Of course, it’s 100% free to join for anyone residing in South Africa.

Swagbucks

Payout threshold: $1 (PayPal and 100+ gift cards)

It used to be that back in the day Swagbucks was only open to U.S. residents.  Thankfully for South African users, this has since changed.  As one of my favorite ways to earn money online, Swagbucks is one of the biggest in the industry.  With this much power, they have a lot of connections, which means a lot of earning opportunities for you.  From surveys to offers and more, you can always find something to do, no matter where you live.

SwitchedOn

Payout threshold: $10 (airtime, cash and vouchers)

SwitchedOn is another community designed for South African residents.  It focuses mainly on entertainment, sports and current affairs, so if these are industries you’re into, it may be one to consider.  Simply register for an account, complete the surveys and then earn rewards for every survey you successfully complete.  You can either wait for a survey invite or you can log into your SwitchedOn account to see what’s available at the moment.  All surveys take anywhere from a minute to usually no longer than 20 minutes.

Surveytime

Payout threshold: pays instantly after survey completion

Surveytime is a unique survey website in that they pay you $1 instantly after you successfully complete a survey.  Unlike almost all surveys that require you to meet a certain threshold before cashing out, this isn’t the case here.  Surveytime is open to South African users and you can get started almost immediately.  Just wait for the survey invites to come to your email inbox and start taking the surveys.  You won’t qualify for all, but the ones you do qualify for will reward you cash instantly, no matter what time of day.

Surveyeah

Payout threshold: $10 (PayPal and Amazon)

Surveyeah is a simpler survey website open to South African users.  I wouldn’t say it’s one with the most invites, but it does provide some opportunity.  You just need to be vigilant in checking your email, seeing the company will send out survey invites to your email.  The quicker you are, the more you can potentially make.  The minimum threshold is higher at $10, but I wouldn’t say it’s the worse.  Payout options include both PayPal and Amazon, two of the most popular options on the market.

TGM Panel

Payout threshold: $10 (PayPal and gift cards)

The nice thing about the TGM Panel is that they have a survey portion specifically designed for South African users.  This means you will find more surveys that you can qualify for.  When you sign up, you can either view the available surveys on your dashboard or you can wait for a survey invite.  Remember, the good surveys do go fast, so you will have to react fast if you want to earn top dollar.  PayPal and gift card codes are the two main payout options once you hit $10 in rewards.

TimeBucks

Payout threshold: $10 (Bitcoin, Neteller, Skrill and bank transfer)

TimeBucks is a cool site because they offer more than just survey opportunities.  You can also earn by watching videos, partaking in social media activities and even mining cryptocurrency.  Granted, many of these options don’t pay much, but oftentimes, some users can get bored of survey invites and want something else to do.  Simply put, you will find many ways to earn that you can’t find anywhere else.

Toluna Influencers

Toluna is one of the bigger names on the list as well and provides members from around the world with a plethora of survey invites.  They also have a special survey division solely for South Africa.  Most surveys take about 10~ minutes to complete, but some longer ones do exist, most of which pay more, up to $5+.  Cash payments are made via PayPal once you hit $5 in points.

Triaba

Payout threshold: $5 (PayPal and virtual gift cards)

According to my research, Triaba is one of the more popular options for South African users.  In fact, it’s one of the more popular survey sites for those who live outside the United States, etc.  It’s a very simplistic website that offers a wide variety of survey options.  You can only take surveys here, but that’s okay to most, seeing it’s usually one of the better ways to earn.  Whenever a new survey arrives, it will show up in your email inbox.  Just click on the invite and take the survey to earn the reward specified.

Univox

Payout threshold: $10 (PayPal, multiple gift cards)

The Univox Community is almost always recruiting South African users to take a variety of surveys.  They also have a decent refer-a-friend program and contests.  The only downfall is that when you first join, you will need at least $25 to cash out; however, after you first cash out, the threshold drops to $10, which isn’t too bad.  If you follow the special link below, the company will give you a $2 sign-up bonus after you fill out your profile.

Voices Africa

Payout threshold: $10 (direct deposit)

This is another survey panel dedicated to South African users only.  Surveys pay anywhere from 1,000 to 5,000 points, with every 2,000 points worth $1 in value.  You need at least 20,000 in points to cash out, in which you will get your cash via direct deposit.  Sign up and the company often offers a small point bonus as well as contest entries to win a future prize.

ySense

Payout threshold: $5 (PayPal, Payoneer, Skrill, multiple gift cards)

ySense is open to almost all parts of the world, including South Africa.  The website seems to supply a steady stream of surveys, most of which pay anywhere from $0.10 to $1 on average.  You should keep rather busy with the site if you were to sign up.  Like the many mentioned here, you can earn from more than just surveys, as the company has offers as well as refer-a-friend options.  You only need $5 to cash out and you can do so via PayPal, Payoneer, Skrill or multiple gift cards.

Final Thoughts

There you have it.

If you live in South Africa, there are so many paid online survey opportunities for you to take advantage of.  And, yes, these are all 100% legitimate and will not cost you a cent.  All you need to do is sign up, keep your eyes peeled for invites and then take action whenever you see a survey of interest because the good ones go fast.

As always, I know I’m probably missing one or two, so if you do know of a company that’s worth our time, please let us know in the comments below.

For now, start following the links above as there’s no limit as to how many you can sign up for.  The more you sign up for, the more you can earn.
