Finding Phone Surveys for Money ($25-$200)

Many people who want to make money taking surveys often think you can only take surveys online, pointing and clicking on your answers.

While this is true to an extent, there are other ways to take surveys, such as in person via a focus group or even over the phone.

I don’t mention phone surveys often as they are rare, but they do exist if you don’t mind talking with someone on the phone.

The nice thing about phone surveys is that they pay more and you don’t run into technical issues are you’re talking with a human being.  The key difference here is that you will answer questions in detail rather than choosing from a select number of answers.  It’s a great way for companies to gauge your experience and actually hear your emotions.

As long as you don’t mind picking up the phone and talking with someone for a few minutes, then the companies I’m about to list may be ones to check out.

As always, every company I mention is 100% legitimate and only ones I would use.  I would never push a product because I’m paid to do so.  I don’t work like that.

With that out of the way, let’s jump in and see which companies conduct telephone interviews and pay you once done.

How To Make Money With Surveys by Phone

Respondent.io

Respondent.io is one of my favorite research websites as they tend to pay the highest rates and have the most opportunities.

When you sign up, you can immediately start browsing through the myriad of projects, specifying if you want to complete your project over the phone.  Many allow you to do so.  Most of the projects listed here are done in person remotely in a one-on-one setting, usually over the phone or via a webcam.  The job description will tell you exactly what’s expected of you.

Respondent.io is free to join and most projects pay anywhere from $25 to more than $250+.  I highly encourage you to sign up and see what they have to offer for your demographic.  It’s 100% free to join, and I promise you will have it high on your list once you start making money.

User Interviews

User Interviews is one I have mentioned a few times, and I like it just as much as Respondent.io.  They always have a ton of survey opportunities, many of which pay more than $25+ per hour.

The nice thing about using this platform is that you can filter out telephone interviews only if that’s what you’re seeking.  Aside from phone interviews, you can also take part in online focus groups as well as in person meetups.

You don’t need an account to browse the current listings, so if you want to see what’s available right now, you can do so via the link below.  If you see something you like, you can sign up for a free account and fill out the pre-screener to see if you qualify.

FocusGroup.com

Focus Group by Schlesinger is one of my favorite websites to find high-paying focus groups.  If you’re sick of the $0.30 surveys and a change, this is one to add to your bookmarks.

As a member, you can filter out the surveys you want to take.  So, if it’s only telephone interviews you’re interested in, you can filter them out and even have them email you whenever a survey such as this pops up.

Joining is 100% free, and you only need to be 18+ years old to join.

When you get a chance, be sure to check out my FocusGroup.com review to see how it works in detail.

Craigslist

This one may sound odd, but it pays off many times.  You just have to be quick and know what you’re looking for.

To find telephone interviews in your area, head to your local Craigslist and then click on the “gigs” section.  You can click on the jobs section as well, but I have found the gigs section to be a better option.

Once there, search for “telephone interview” and see if something pops up.  You won’t always find something, but if you do, read the description to see if you qualify.  Generally, your bigger cities will have a lot of options.  A reputable company will mention who they are as well as what’s expected of you.  Generally, as long as they post a name and you can research them, it will be legit.

Harris Poll

The name “Harris Poll” is often synonymous with phone surveys.  Just search the term Harris Poll to see how much influence they have.  Since 1989, the company has been providing insights to major corporations, governments and non-profits, and they continue to recruit members like you to the panel.

While the company regularly posts traditional online surveys, they do conduct telephone surveys as well.  It’s just not as common as they used to be.

Nonetheless, you can always sign up for a free account and wait for a telephone study to pop up.

Probe Market Research (PMR)

Right on the main site, PMR claims you don’t even need to leave your home as they conduct many interviews right on the phone.  The cool thing about this company is they pay up to $400 per study in some cases.

Aside from phone interviews, they also conduct your typical in-person focus groups and traditional online surveys.

If you want to have fun, maybe test out some products and conduct your interview over the phone, consider adding your name to their database.  It’s 100% free to do so.

Survey Squad

Survey Squad reminds me a lot like FocusGroup.com, wherein they consistently post high-paying projects, including telephone interviews.

The company will tweet out the most current projects, but you can create a free account as well to filter your results.

From my experience, most of what they post pays north of $100, and many are done via your phone/webcam.

Survey Feeds

Survey Feeds is more of an aggregator, where they will find surveys from various companies and then post it in any easy-to-read list

The nice thing about the website is that you can filter out just telephone surveys if you so choose.  When I was writing this, for instance, there were more than three pages of telephone interviews, many of which paid $100 to $200+.

Just click on the link below, browse the listings, and if you see one of interest, follow the link for more information.

Final Thoughts

If you want to take surveys over the phone for money, it can be done.  You just need to know which companies are offering these opportunities.  Thankfully, I saved you time listed them for you.

These companies are very reputable, 100% free to join and should send out telephone surveys on occasions. Again, telephone surveys aren’t as popular as your traditional online surveys, but they do exist.  You just need to be on the lookout and apply as fast as you can since they don’t last long.

As time goes on, I will try to add more companies to this list, but if you know I’m missing any, let me know in the comments below.

  • I came upon this website yesterday early morning, and I don’t know where to start in expressing how much I appreciate you for all the reading and work you have done. I am so thankful for stumbling upon this site. I bookmarked it and wrote down many of the survey sites you’ve recommended. I’ve been searching for different survey sites that actually pay what they claim. I dislike the ones that use a point system or claim to pay a certain amount, only to find out they are dishonest or fraudulent. So, I really thank you a lot. And I hope you can read my typing. Have a Merry Christmas (if you celebrate it) and a Happy New Year.”
