A few days ago, I received an invite to join the Amazon Shopper Panel, an invitation-only program/app where you can earn monthly by rewards taking surveys as well as uploading receipts. Since I’m a fan of making money on the side, I figured why not, and I went ahead and downloaded it.
After using it for a while now, I wanted to show you how the app works, if it’s worth your time as well as how you can potentially get an invite.
As always, my reviews are 100% honest, straight to the point and I will never mislead you in any way. I just don’t work like that.
So, with that being said, let’s begin!
What is the Amazon Shopper Panel?
The Amazon Shopper Panel is operated by Amazon.com, yes, that Amazon. It’s an app that asks you to upload receipts outside of Amazon as well as answer surveys as they come in. It mostly focuses on receipts, however.
There are a lot of these apps out there, and generally, companies will use this data to analyze trends as well as gather insights. In short, it’s used for market research.
Right now, the app is only by invite, but this can change in the future. At the moment, there’s no way to send an invite, so the only thing I can recommend is that you keep your eyes peeled on your email as it seems Amazon sends out an invite to targeted customers.
Signing Up
Signing up is extremely easy as the app will connect your Amazon account to your app. That way, when it comes time to cash out, your credits will be applied to your Amazon account. At the moment, you can only receive Amazon credits and nothing else. This may be a downside to some, but to me, Amazon credits are almost as good as cash, seeing they have almost anything imaginable.
How to Earn Rewards
To earn rewards with the Amazon Shopper Panel, it’s as easy as uploading 10 “eligible” receipts. And, I put “eligible” in quotes as they only accept certain receipts. According to the app, the following types of receipts are deemed eligible:
- grocery stores
- drug stores
- department stores
- restaurants
- movie theaters
- theme parks
Generally, as long as it’s from a retailer/restaurant, they will accept it.
Just let it be known that they will not accept the following types of receipts:
- any Amazon.com property (Whole Foods, Amazon.com, etc)
- medical expenses
- gambling
- firearms
- housing
- mass transit
- childcare
- school tuition
- professional services
- handwritten receipts
This is subject to change, but for now, you will want to focus on submitting any retailer/restaurant receipts.
10 Receipts = $10
The great thing about the app is that they make it so easy to earn rewards. All you need to do is snap 10 receipt pictures a month and Amazon will give you $10 in Amazon credits. Remember, they have to an eligible receipt. If it’s not, they will just reject it, so there’s no worry there.
Yes, it’s as simple as taking a picture and then waiting for it to be approved. When I took a picture, for example, I had to wait about 24 hours for the company to approve it. Just keep in mind that it isn’t instant like the many apps out there.
Once you hit that 10 receipt goal, they will add $10 to your Amazon credits.
Surveys
Aside from the receipts, Amazon will also send out survey invites, which you can accept as you please. Like the many survey apps, you do not have to take the surveys if you don’t feel like doing so.
On the app, you can find any survey invites via the “surveys” tab, which can be found near the bottom of your app. Just select a survey of interest and take it. Most surveys take a few minutes to complete and can pay anywhere from $0.25 to $1+. They are very simple to complete. In fact, it’s one of the smoother survey apps I have taken advantage of.
The surveys will usually be about brands or products that may be of interest to you. For instance, they may ask how likely you may purchase a product.
Depending on your demographics, the number of survey invites you receive will vary. I may only get four or five in a month, whereas you may get double that or nothing at all. With any surveys, your results will vary, and I can’t stress that enough. Be sure to set up a notification as they will alert you any time a survey is available.
Rewards
As mentioned, once you hit $10 in rewards, Amazon will apply the credits the next time you make a purchase. However, Amazon credits are not the only options you can choose as you can donate to a variety of charitable organizations as well. Of course, this is entirely optional and up to you.
When you first start the app, you can head to the rewards section and choose how you want to get paid.
At the beginning of each month, the app will pay you within 48 hours, and you will receive an e-mail to your Amazon e-mail on file when the credits post.
Keep in mind that you can only earn $10 in receipt rewards every month. Once you hit that $10, you will have to wait until the next month for it to reset. As for the surveys, however, there is no limit, but generally, you should only earn a few dollars completing them every month.
Amazon Shopper Panel Reviews
At the time of this review, the app had a solid 4.9/5 score on the Google Play Store. Honestly, this was one of the highest rated apps that I have ever seen. And, in reading these reviews, here’s what people liked (and hated) about the app.
The Pros
- very easy to earn $10 in rewards
- simple to use
- easily one of the highest receipt scanning apps
- accepts almost any retailer/restaurant receipt
The Cons
- can only choose Amazon credits (a downside to some)
- can only earn $10 in rewards every month
- invite only
Final Thoughts
10/10If you can get an invite to this program, take advantage of it. Out of all the receipt scanning-like apps, this is, by far, the best option. You only need to update 10 receipts a month to earn $10 in Amazon credits. That’s $1 per receipt. To put that into perspective, that’s much more than the average penny that most apps give you.
In the end, I can promise you an invite as I don’t know what they are looking for, but in general, as long as you’re an active Amazon.com customer, you may get an invite. I think it’s going to depend on your spending habits and demographics. Your results will vary.
For now, keep your eyes peeled on your inbox. If you did receive an invite and you’re just researching more in depth, then it be known that it’s worth it 100%. It only takes a few minutes of your time every month and it’s a very easy $10.
That’s it for now.
As always, if you want to comment on this app or maybe you have some questions, then you’re more than welcome to chime in the comments below. Thanks for reading!

Would I be able to get an invite to this?
Hi Samantha! It seems to be at random. One day, Amazon e-mailed me, asking if I wanted to join. Keep an eye on your e-mails from Amazon 🙂
