It’s no secret that raising a baby isn’t cheap.
From the free diapers to the baby formula needed daily, it can all add up, no matter how much you try to save. Baby formula alone could easily cost you up to $150+ a month.
In today’s post, I wanted to talk about the many ways you can get free baby formula, from free samples to actual sizes you purchase at the store. Almost everyone can qualify, and like all of my freebie posts, it’s 100% legit!
Whether you want to test out some samples or snag some great coupons, put your credit card away and get ready to sign up for some great baby formula freebies.

Quite possibly the biggest name on this list, Similac, much like its major competitor, Enfamil, offers free samples and coupons as well.
Through its “StrongMoms Rewards,” parents can receive personalized gifts and benefits, like formula samples and even coupons for nothing.
It’s a lot, but here’s a general idea as to what you could get, at least according to the website…

Do You Qualify for WIC? (low income family option)
If you qualify financially for the WIC program, then you can receive free baby formula as well as other necessities at no cost. Today, about half of all infants born in the United States are on WIC, so don’t think that you don’t qualify just yet.
Designed for women, infants and children (WIC), this program provides federal grants to states to help supplement food, health care, nutrition education and much more. It’s a great option to help lessen the financial load for your baby’s necessities.
To learn more about the program and see if you qualify, you can follow the link below for more information.

Check out These Freebie Websites
In the past, I wrote about more than 40+ websites that post freebies every single day. I even wrote about the many ways you can find freebies on Facebook as well.
The great thing about these websites is that they comb the web every single day and post the freebies they find. Now, the thing with these freebies is that they often go quick, so if you see something of interest, it’s best to sign up as soon as you can.
Check out the many freebies I talked about and just use the website search feature. You may be able to find something, but even if you can’t, you can always keep coming back as these sites are always being updated.
Food Pantries (low income family option)
Food pantries stock more than just your food necessities. Many of them also stock baby formula and other baby supplies as well, most often donated from baby formula companies and even your local companies.
While this isn’t a guarantee, you can always call a food bank ahead of time to see if anything is in stock and/or if they ever have it in stock.
Many food banks don’t ask you to fill out paperwork to qualify. Instead, they just ask that you take what you need and only if you need it.
I only recommend this option if you need baby formula now and are in a tough financial situation.
To find a reputable food pantry near you, I recommend searching FeedingAmerica.org or even Googling “food pantry near me” to see what’s available nearby. Feeding America is one of the largest networks of charities that focuses solely on stopping hunger.
Check out a Pregnancy Center (low income family option)
Many communities often have a pregnancy center nearby that offers free baby supplies and even health services at no cost.
All of these centers work in the same way, where you can receive support, healthcare and so much more. The Women’s Care Center, for instance, offers a ton of free support and has more than 32+ locations throughout the United States.
Not all of these centers offer free baby supplies, so it’s best to at least contact one before driving there. Some may also focus on healthcare prior to giving birth. As they are all different, it’s best to call and visit their website to know what they can provide for you.
To find one, a simple search such as “pregnancy center near me” works best.
Even More Options to Consider…
Aside from pregnancy centers and food pantries mentioned, there are many other options to consider if you need help paying for baby formula.
Again, these options are only available if you need financial help, and in many cases, you will need to prove your financial status to get accepted.
With that out of the way, here are some other options to consider:
- Department of Social Services
- Churches
- Local Charities (search for baby/family charities to find these)
- SNAP
Check with Your Child’s Doctor
With a newborn, there’s a good chance you’re visiting your doctor every few weeks/months.
The next time you visit your doctor, ask them if they have any formula samples and/or coupons in stocks.
As a lot of the popular baby formula brands work with local doctors in hopes they promote their product, you will be surprised as to what they can offer you. When we did this, for instance, we receive a free coupon for a full-sized formula and a ton of samples.
Ask the Hospital
And, in case you haven’t left the hospital yet or maybe you haven’t had your baby and are just preparing, ask your hospital before you go.
Regardless of whether or not you ask, your hospital will send you away with a ton of free samples, from diapers to a ton of coupons. Remember, these companies want you to buy from them for the next year or so!
It doesn’t hurt to ask for more as they may have more to share or sometimes they will just be nice and double down on your samples. The worst case is that they say no, right?
Almost Free Baby Formula Options
In this section, I wanted to include some fantastic deals, but the only exception is that it’s not 100% free.
In many cases, you will have to pay a small fee, often less than $5, to get your free baby formula. Nonetheless, it’s a fantastic deal, even if it costs you a few bucks.
eBay
Almost always, people post fantastic baby formula coupons on eBay for less than a few dollars.
All you need to do is win the auction, receive your coupon and use it at a local authorized retailer.
For example, when I was writing this, I saw more than 250+ baby formula coupon listings, ranging from $5 to $10+ off, making the formula almost free, even when you factor in the eBay spend.
If you almost always want to save up to 50% off, I highly recommend considering this path to save. The only downfall is that you have to wait for your coupons to arrive in the mail.

Swagbucks
If you have some time to spare, consider joining Swagbucks and answering a few surveys every day to earn points towards a variety of gift card options or even cash if you so choose. It’s as easy as answering some questions, that’s it. I promise it’s very easy!
I have been using Swagbucks for more than a year now and easily earn $150+ a month in just answering surveys for about 10 to 20 minutes a day. For instance, these were a few of my survey options at the time of this review….
With each point worth a $0.01, that 3,500 SB was worth $35! Just complete two 100 SB surveys a day and that’s easily $60 a month. It really does add up.
In exchange for your points, you could redeem it for a Walmart gift card, Amazon or even PayPal cash if you want. With that newfound money, you can then use it to purchase the baby formula you want.
While it takes a pinch of your time, you could start RIGHT now and have enough points by the end of the week.

Use Coupons
This won’t always make your baby formula free, but you could save quite a bit.
Here’s how it works…
What you’re going to want to do is find a coupon database that finds you the coupon and the sale item. One of my favorites is theKrazyCouponLady.com. There many others as well.
On these databases, they will find the sale items for the week and the best coupons you can use on top of that low price to save even more. So, for instance, if baby formula was on sale for $20 and you could use a $5 off coupon, you could save much more than $5 since it was already on sale.
This strategy can work for anything in the grocery store, and I just wanted to quickly mention this here to help you save money the next time you want to shop.
Make it a habit to always coupon hunt before shopping and you may be surprised as to how much you can save.
Natures One
Natures One was said to be the first baby formula to go organic and “way ahead of the curve.” You will find no BPA in their lids, cans or scoops nor will you encounter any questionable ingredients.
If you want to try out the company for the first time, they will send you a full-sized product for free. However, you will have to pay a small $5.95 shipping fee.
- Website: Natures One
Parent’s Choice
This is one of the more expensive options in this section, but it will still save you some money.
The Parent’s Choice formula brand, only available at Walmart, is said to cost up to 50 percent less than leading brands with almost identical ingredients. Remember that all formulas sold in the United States must adhere to the same FDA safety standards so you’re in good hands.
If you want to try the Parent’s Choice formula, Walmart allows you to do so for $8.98.
To learn how you can take advantage, you can read more about the sample program via the link below.

Final Thoughts
As you can see, free baby formula is possible, no matter what your living situation is like right now. Don’t forget that you can get many more baby freebies, not just formula!
If you’re in dire financial need, I would recommend you immediately contact some of your local food banks, social service offices and even churches to see what they can do for you. As long as you financially qualify, you shouldn’t have a problem getting free baby formula. There are options out there, just know that.
In case you’re just looking for a good deal, then the best way, by far is via the email newsletters I mentioned above. Simply sign up, enter your address and wait for the hundreds of dollars worth of samples to arrive. These options are open to all, no matter how good you’re doing in life.
If you know of any options I’m missing out on, you’re more than welcome to share your tips in the comments below.
In the meantime, start signing up ASAP to get the baby formula you’ve been wanting.
