Givvy Video App Review (Read This Before)

The Givvy video app has more than 1,000,000+ downloads with a decent 4.6/5 rating on the Google Play Store.

The app states that you can make money watching videos and listening to music.  While this premise sounds great, can you make money doing so? Usually, it won’t be much, and this seems to be the case here.

Whether you have heard about the Givvy video app and want to learn more about it or you want to figure out how you can get paid to watch videos, let’s see if the Givvy video app works.

As in all of my reviews, I’m 100% honest, always letting you know how it is.

Earning Money with the Givvy Video App

The minute you download the app, the company will let you access the app immediately after you accept the terms and conditions.  They don’t ask you to create an account like the so many apps on the market, however, when you cash out, you can provide details then.

On that dashboard, as you can see, you can watch YouTube videos, listen to radio stations or browse particular genres, such as film, sports, etc.  In that screenshot above, you can scroll for quite a while and click on anything of interest.

Whenever you click on a video or radio station, the app will mostly make you watch a video ad that lasts about 30 to 60~ seconds and these ads will continue to play at random whenever you’re interacting with the app.  If you have ever played an app before, then you’re probably already well aware of these types of video ads.

Simply put, the app will make money whenever you watch an ad, which they will then share some of the profits with you.  Immediately after you watch an ad, coins will be added to your balance.

How Much Can I Earn?

Now, with this app, you will earn money every time you watch an ad, not whenever you watch YouTube videos, etc.  And, depending on how often you watch, you will earn about 1,000 to 3,000~ in Givvy coins.  This may sound like a lot, but it really isn’t.

To cash out, it starts at $0.35 in Givvy coins currency, which is about 350,000 in coins.  However, if you want PayPal, you will need at least $1.04 in coins, which is about 1,000,000+ in coins.  That’s a lot of watching.

Every 10,000 coins you earn, you will earn $0.01 in rewards.

What does this mean for you?

If you have to watch an ad every few minutes, and you only earn about 2,000~ in coins, this means you will have to watch about five ads to earn a penny and about 100 ads to earn $0.19 to cash out.  That is A LOT of viewing just to barely earn a quarter.

Think of it this way.  Every five ads you watch, you will earn a penny.  Is a penny worth 5 to 10 minutes of your time?

Yes, you can watch YouTube videos and listen to the radio, but it’s going to be interrupted by those very annoying ads every so often, making the experience not that fun.  While YouTube ads are okay, these are much worse.

Rewards

If you think your time is worth a penny per 10 minutes, then let’s discuss the rewards.

While I write this, you can cash out via a variety of options, including:

  • Payeer (minimum $0.35)
  • Revolut (minimum $0.35)
  • Airtm (minimum $0.35)
  • Coinbase (minimum $0.35)
  • Amazon (minimum $0.69)
  • PayPal (minimum $1.04)

Other options exist, but these seem to be the most popular options.  Depending on which option you choose, you can earn your rewards immediately, whereas some options can take up to three days, such as PayPal and Amazon.

Common Complaints

The reviews may seem good on the Google Play Store, however, if you look at the most “liked” comments, there seems to be a common complaint where the app marks your IP as fraudulent and then boots you off the platform.  Many people noted this, so even if you sign up, you may risk your account, even if you’re using it as you should.

And, of course, it will take you more than a year to earn $1, which isn’t worth it to anyone.

I didn’t read much in terms of good reviews but do check out the Google Play Store as they don’t live up to that 4.7/5 rating.

Final Thoughts

0/10All this app does is take YouTube videos and radio stations and then benefits from them.  I’m not even sure how this app lasts, as I think it’s against the YouTube TOS.  They are taking ad revenue from these ad platforms and benefiting from it.  They then share a tiny portion with you.

If you want to watch 1,000 ads and earn $1, then I say, hey, go for it, but if you’re smart about your time, you will skip 100%.  Sure, you can get paid for watching YouTube videos, but it’s not going to be as much as you think.

That does it for now.
