At first, Gold Opinions seems like your typical survey website if someone were to talk about it, but you first land upon the website, it’s filled with a lot of shady business practices.
I’ve been in the internet marketing world since 2006, and to me, it’s fairly easy to spot a shady practice, and this screams it. I’m seeing fake screenshots and the typical “marketing” copy that many marketers use. You know, the bold letters, big fonts, and making huge claims in red font. I have found that most of the websites don’t live up to their claims. While the way to make money may make sense, only the person selling the product is getting rich 99.9% of the time.
In today’s review, I wanted to talk about Gold Opinions and how it works. Can you actually make up to $50 per survey? Is it worth your time?
Let’s find out.
What is GoldOpinions.com?
GoldOpinions is a membership-like website that will pay you for your opinions. Sure, there are a lot of these websites out there, but what makes this website different is that they charge you for a membership. This is a huge red flag as any legitimate survey website will never charge you. There’s so much free information out there, such as my website, that you don’t have to pay. It’s readily available. I can’t stress this enough; never pay for a membership as you won’t find value.
If you were to want to sign up, the website will go into a spiel, letting you know what you can get. This will include “access to thousands of surveys and panels” as well as “access to hundreds of gadget review jobs.” You can also get free exclusive freebies and much more. You can see what’s included below.
It seems to be a lot, but again, most of what’s inside the package can be found online.
When I took a look at it, the website just pushed links to popular survey sites that many already know about. The funny thing is that they use affiliate links, so when you do sign up, you’re going to make them even more money on top of the joining fee you paid.
The company almost always has a “promo,” where you can pay anywhere from $1 to $5 as a one-time fee. It sounds cheap, but it’s still not worth it. I wouldn’t even pay a cent. My point here is that you shouldn’t be fooled by the “promo” as they always have one.
The Red Flags
#1 You need to pay a fee to join the website. This is something that you won’t find on any other survey site.
#2 This isn’t truly a survey site. Rather, it’s a “product” that just tells you where to go find surveys. You won’t take surveys here.
#3 As mentioned in the intro, it’s filled with “salesy” keywords to get you pumped up. You won’t make $50 a day, I can assure you that.
#4 I can’t find any information about who owns the website. Any legitimate business will let you know who runs it.
#5 The main website is filled with fake testimonials. These are just a bunch of random quotes from random pictures. Even if you Google the pictures, you will find them on popular royalty-free image websites.
#6 The website claims they were featured in major news outlets such as Yahoo! and Entrepreneur. This isn’t true as only the companies they mention are, not them.
Final Thoughts
0/10In the end, Gold Opinions is a fat no. Never pay for a survey membership as all of the information you need to find can readily be found on Google and YouTube. Heck, search the website here and you can find everything you need to know. Even if it’s a $1, save it. You can thank me later. For now, if you’re interested in making money with surveys, it can be done, but you just need to know where to look. I recommend you start with the more than 40+ survey companies that pay via PayPal. I have many other posts you can search for using the search bar above. You can also check out the surveys subsection for more information as well.
That’s going to do it for now.
