Influence App Review: Record Yourself and Earn

Some of the links may be from a sponsor. Advertising Disclosure

The Influence app, compared to most survey apps, is different in that you will have to record yourself giving answers rather than answering them.  If you’re comfortable recording yourself, it may be a decent app to download.  It has more than 100,000+ downloads with a very solid 4.6/5 rating.

Whether you want to know more about the Influence app because you heard of it or maybe you want to find another survey app to make more money, let’s see if it’s worth your time.

What Is the Influence App?

The Influence app is operated by VoxPopMe Ltd, which is said to be the #1 video feedback platform. They were designed to help customers build great products and brands based on your real-time video feedback.  In short, a researcher will ask you questions in regards to an app, etc, and you will then record your response in video form.

With the app, you will answer simple questions in video form and then cash out via PayPal once your account has been credited.  Like most apps, you get to choose the jobs you want to take part in.

How the Influence App Works

The Influence app can be downloaded on either the Google Play Store or App Store, whichever phone you have.  Since it’s only a mobile app, you can only make money with this app on your phone.  There’s no download option.

To join, you can link your Facebook/Google account or you can create an account on the site.  No matter how you create an account, they will want to know your name, email address as well as your gender and date of birth.  The entire sign-up process takes maybe three minutes to complete.  Only Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom and United States residents older than 18 are allowed to join.

Once you join, you will then see a dashboard that looks something like this:

When you first join, the company will ask that you fill out your profile so that they can match you with specific surveys.  And, if you have ever been part of a research/survey company, you may already know about this process.  The more they know about you, the more surveys they can send you.  While you’re not compensated for this, it’s important to fill out that profile to receive as many surveys as possible.

The Video Surveys

As mentioned, all of the surveys are video based, so it’s not your typical answer a few questions and submit.  If you don’t like the idea of recording, you will not like this app; however, many options do exist if you don’t want to record yourself.  In fact, most survey apps don’t require that you record yourself.

On your dashboard, as you can see above, you will see the questions available for the day.

For example, when I was doing this review, I had a few options, such as where did I hear about the app as well as banking habits.  Each one only pays about $0.50 to $5, but this seems to be standard for the app.  Sometimes, you can find even higher paying options, but it seems to be rare.  Remember, you will never get rich using these apps.  As long as you have the app downloaded, you will get notified whenever a new survey pops up.

If you’re interested in any of these options, click on the tab and then see what’s expected of you.

For example, clicking on that banking habit option, I need to talk about how I do most of my banking as well as if I use an app, etc.  Most of what you need to know is given to you before you start.

Just click on the “start task” button and then follow the prompts to get paid.

Payments

Every time your response is approved, your account will be credited, in which you can cash out via PayPal.  You will need at least $15 in your account, which can take quite some time.  In fact, it can be time consuming for some, depending on how often you use it.

How much can I make?

Expect to make about $3 to $5 a month, maybe a pinch more.  This will depend on how often you log in and your demographics.

The Pros:

  • PayPal
  • simple video responses
  • easy to use
  • legitimate company

The Cons:

  • need $15 to cash out (takes a while for some)
  • have to record yourself
  • not a lot of earning opportunity

Final Thoughts

7/10As long as you don’t mind recording your responses, each session only takes a minute at most.  It’s not much and you should make about $0.50 to $1 every time, which can add up to a few dollars here and there.  I wouldn’t expect much, but it’s a quick survey app if that’s what you’re looking for.  Again, expect to earn maybe $5 a month at most.  It’s not going to be the highest-paying app, that’s for sure.

In the end, the influence app is 100% legitimate, and you make something, but not much.  For some, it can be nice to have that extra PayPal cash.

That’s going to do it for now.
