PlayTime App Review: Play Games and Earn?

The PlayTime app is one of the many apps on the market that will pay you to play games.  But, before you get excited about the concept, let it be known that even the best game playing apps won’t pay your bills.  In fact, you will be lucky to only make a few dollars a month.

Nonetheless, if you’re looking to play new games and you want to get rewarded in a way, I guess it can be okay in that regard.

In today’s review, I wanted to talk about the very popular PlayTime app.  It has more than 1,000,000+ downloads and an okay 4/5 rating on the Google Play Store.  Whether you want to play games and get paid or you want to learn more about the PlayTime app, let’s see how it works as well as if it’s worth your time.

How it Works

The minute you download the app, they will only ask for your gender as well as your age, that’s it.  The process takes about 30 seconds and you can start downloading games right away to start earning coins.  The app will give you 3,600 coins to start, which sounds like a lot, but as you soon find out, it won’t be as much as you think.

The picture you see above is what your dashboard is going to look like, and the premise is simple.

You will click on a game of interest and then play it to earn coins.  Whenever you see a game that looks of interest to you, simply click on it to see what’s expected of you to earn coins.

For example, let’s say we click on that “Cornhole League” game.  This is what you’re going to see:

As you can see, it doesn’t say much, other than that they are redirecting you to the app, in which you will download.  Once you do, “play actively” and get your payout.  That is a problem, as you don’t know how long you have to play to earn coins.   Most of the better competitors will let you know exactly what you have to do to earn coins, such as reach a certain level or play a certain number of minutes.

How Much Can You Earn?

This is what’s tough.

Since you don’t know how much you’re going to earn while you’re playing, it’s hard to give an answer; however, if you look at the reviews, you can kind of get an idea.

When I checked out the reviews on the Google Play Store, it appeared to be very random.  If you were just starting, you could earn 100 coins per minute, however, it could drop to as little as a few coins.

A big problem is that there aren’t many games compared to competitors, so even if you want to earn, you won’t find many games to do so.

What I’m getting at when I read this is that you can expect to earn about $5 per month if you aggressively play the app, which, as I mentioned isn’t going to be much at all.

The Rewards

To earn your rewards, you will need to earn at least 10,999 coins to cash out for $5 in rewards.

As you can see, you can choose from three rewards, either Google Play, Amazon or even PayPal.  Payments start at $5, but you can wait until $50 if you so choose.

It does appear that they pay, but it can take more than 24 to 48+ hours to receive your reward, so don’t expect it right away.

What Are Others Saying

Most of the reviews from what I saw seemed to be mixed.  To make it easier, I broke down the pros and cons to show you what I found out:

The Pros

  • Most were happy with the payout options
  • Variety of games to choose from most of the time
  • Simple interface

The Cons

  • Some mentioned delayed rewards, up to a few days
  • Missing points was a huge complaint, as people would play but wouldn’t see the credits
  • Earning rates are reduced the longer you play
  • App glitches
  • Customer service seems to be lacking
  • Can’t create an account so it’s hard to save your progress

Final Thoughts

2/10In the end, I wouldn’t recommend PlayTime, and the main reason is that they just don’t have a ton of games to choose from.  Plus, they don’t really tell you how you can earn.  This can make it confusing.  While they do seem to be legit and will pay, you just won’t get much out of it.

Again, don’t expect much with any of these games.  Just download these apps because you want to try new games.

If you want to play games and earn the most in doing so, I highly recommend Mistplay, as this seems to be the best option in this industry.

  • I have been playing on the Playtime app for 8 months now and at first they were paying out my gift cards from my coin redemption. Now here I am months later and I’ve been waiting since 7/17/23 for 4 gift cards that have been in the “processing” mode. I’ve tried many times to get ahold of the developer and I keep getting the same message over and over. They say they are checking into my account but nothing happens. The Playtime app is crap and I suggest that you don’t download and waste your time. If anyone knows how I can accomplish getting my gift cards please let me know. Thank you

  • This app is a scam. Read the reviews, and you’ll see the amount of people who have been waiting months for their payouts on Paypal, Amazon and Google Play gift cards. It says it processes in 24 hours, but it’s a lie, I am waiting for over £150 pounds in cash and gift cards and they all just say Processing and have done so for weeks now.

I even spent money in order to advance on some games because of offers of ‘free cash’ when hitting a certain level, or spending specific amounts. They just change it when you’ve done the challenge, so if it say’s “spend £9 pounds to get £3.00 free cash” if you spend £9 pounds on the games in app purchase, it then changes to “spend £11 pounds to get £5.00 free cash” there is zero ‘free cash’ given. If you email them, you get an automated email and no one ever get’s back to you.

It needs to be reported as fraud.

    • The free cash option upgrades every time you do it. I’m currently on spend 29 to get 33 free on dice dreams. I use Google play credit to complete the tasks. In the last 3 weeks I’ve had £186 in Google play all credited within 10 minutes. However I’m still waiting for £20 PayPal which I claimed around 3 hours ago.
