SurveyCheddar App Review (Should You Join?)

The “Cheddar-Surveys for Cash” app is one of the many survey apps on the Google Play/iTunes marketplace.  Sure, while you can make money using these survey apps, the problem is that a lot of these don’t offer much unique and they don’t pay all that much.

Previously known as MegaWallet, they are said to be one of the “fastest ways to make money by taking paid surveys,” but is this true?

Let’s find out.

In today’s review, I downloaded the app, played around with it for a few and compiled my thoughts, all of which you can read about below.  As in all of my reviews, I’m always 100% honest, only recommending what I feel is worth your time.

What is SurveyCheddar?

SurveyCheddar is one of the many survey apps you can download for your mobile device.  At the moment, it’s only available for your phone and cannot be used on your desktop like the many other survey apps.  It appears it’s open worldwide, but depending on your country, you may not see a ton of invites.  Usually, the U.S., UK and Canada tend to have the most survey options.

When you download the app, you will simply answer survey questions, and in exchange for your time, you will earn compensation, usually anywhere from a few pennies to as much as $2+.  Everything you need to know ahead of time will be presented to you, so you can always be certain as to how much you’re going to earn.

The app is 100% legit and they do pay, however, it doesn’t mean it will be worth your time.

Making Money

To make money, it’s as simple as answering survey questions.

Whenever you open the app, you will see a dashboard that will look something like what you see above.  It’s very simple and easy to understand, which I like.

You will see how long the surveys are, what it pays as well as the category it belongs to.  For example, what you see above are the “speedy” and “recommended” surveys.  You can scroll down and see even more categories, such as “high rewards” as well as all of the surveys available at the moment.

Whenever a survey makes sense to you, just click on the link and then take the survey.

Now, remember, you will not qualify for every survey you click on.  In fact, only plan on qualifying for maybe 10-20%.  This is a common frustration among survey takers, so I want you to keep that in mind.

What Are the Coins Worth?

Unfortunately, the app doesn’t use a currency approach like some surveys do.  Instead, they use a coin system.

For every 1,000 coins you earn, you will be able to cash out for $1 in rewards.  That means every coin is worth $0.001.

So, using that example above, a 10 point survey will only net you $0.01.  Obviously, that’s not much.

To make it easy, however, I just say every 1,000 is worth $1.

The Rewards

So, when it comes time to cash out, the app does have a lot of reward options, some of which include the most popular options such as PayPal and Amazon.

To cash out for any of the rewards, you will need at least 5,000 points ($5) to do so, which seems to be around the industry standard.  Usually, I say as long as the app doesn’t require you to earn more than $5, it’s okay.  Anything higher than this and it can get frustrating.

Aside from PayPal and Amazon, they have a variety of gift cards as well, including Nike, Lowe’s, Adidas and so many more.

I don’t have a problem with the rewards system as it seems like they have a reward for anyone, so there’s no problem here when it comes time to cash out.

How Much Can I Earn?

All of these surveys are going to come from third parties, much like the other survey apps on the market.  And, depending on your demographic, I don’t think you can make much.  I’m thinking maybe $0.50 a day looking at what the surveys pay.  And, that’s if you’re aggressive!

If the surveys only pay 10 to 50 points, we’re only talking up to $0.05!  I don’t think it’s going to be worth your time.

Simply put, don’t expect much here.

The Pros:

  • some users reported the app was very easy to use
  • PayPal and decent reward options

The Cons:

  • the app seems to always be glitching, preventing users from logging in or completing surveys
  • some users experience not getting points credited
  • a number of users expressed frustration with the app design, including persistent pop-ups which interfere with using it
  • some users suspect the app is selling information
  • some users see no surveys available in their region
  • negative customer support stories
  • very low income opportunities

Final Thoughts

2/10In the end, SurveyCheddar isn’t worth your time.  The payouts are low, you won’t make much and there are so many better alternatives out there such as Swagbucks and Freecash.  Plus, you won’t find much in terms of uniqueness.

While you will never make much in survey apps, some definitely make more than others.  This one isn’t one of them.

That’s going to do it for now.
