Swagbucks Watch: Worth Your Time? (review)

I have talked about Swagbucks so many times before.  If you’re looking to make around $20 to $50 a month, then look no further than this company.  It’s a great way to make money with no investment, and best of all, you can start now.

Since there are so many ways to make money with Swagbucks, I wanted to focus on a feature that’s quite popular, Swagbucks Watch.

While I’m a fan of Swagbucks, I’m not a fan of all features.

What is Swagbucks Watch?

I’m not going to get into the nitty gritty of what Swagbucks is, as I have covered this in detail before.  You can find more about the company here in my review.  In short, it’s a legitimate company and they have paid me countless times.  There’s no reason to think it’s a scam by any means.

As for the Swagbucks Watch portion, it’s a way to watch video clips and get rewarded for your time.  Now, before you get excited, you’re not going to make that much; however, you will make something.  If it’s worth it, only you can answer that.

Getting Started

If you haven’t already signed up for a Swagbucks account, you will need to do so.  It only takes a few minutes and they just ask for a few pieces of information at first, such as your email and name.  The great thing is that most of the time, you can earn a bonus of up to $10 just for signing up and completing the tasks necessary to claim it.  You only need to be 13+ years old and reside in the US, UK, Ireland, Australia, Germany, India and Canada.

After you sign up, you will want to go to the “more” tab, followed by the “watch” section to browse the videos you can watch at the moment to start earning Swagbucks, the website’s currency.  For every SB you earn, this is equal to $0.01, which you can use to cash out for a variety of prizes, including gift cards and PayPal cash.

After you do this, you will be presented with the “most popular content,” in which you can browse categories and certain clips that you can watch for Swagbucks.

For example, while I was writing this review, I could way daily sports updates, financial news, entertainment news and much more.  You can choose the niche, but you can choose the exact show you want to watch.

Making Money

When you click on a topic of interest, Swagbucks will then pay you 1 SB for about every 30 to 60 seconds of viewing.  This seems to be commonplace, but it can change at any time.  You will always know what you’re going to make before clicking on a video, however.

As for what’s expected of you, some providers, depending on who you click on, want you to click on a certain number of pages, whereas others may just ask you to watch video clips as well as some advertisements.  Again, you will know what’s expected of you.  99% of the time, you will click and watch some videos, mostly filled with ads but with content as well.

So, doing this math, you’re going to make about 60 SB, equivalent to $0.60 in rewards.  That means you’re making less than $1 per hour watching something you probably don’t want to watch.  You will usually not make much more than this.  I know, it’s a bummer, but it’s the sad reality of watching videos online to make money,.

Swagbucks Watch Isn’t Great

Now, Swagbucks Watch isn’t all that great.  You won’t make much, and I find it to be incredibly boring, but you will earn something.  It’s not that much.

For that reason, skip out on the Watch section; however, it doesn’t mean that Swagbucks is a dud.  The company offers a variety of other ways to make money, from completing surveys to offers.  I usually focus on the offers section and look out for the opportunities that make sense to me.  For example, I made $100 before purchasing some items at a retailer, which cost me about $25.  Effectively, I netted $75.  Those are the deals I usually do.  Scatter that in with some surveys and I can average about $100 a month.  Yes, it’s not much, but remember that Swagbucks isn’t intended for you to get rich.

Final Thoughts

Swagbucks is fantastic, but the Swagbucks Watch portion isn’t the best.

If you’re going to use the site, focus your time on surveys and offers, as this is where you will find the most opportunity to earn some cash.  If you work hard at it, I don’t see why you can’t make $100, $200 or even $300 a month.  It depends on how hard you work at it.

For now, skip the Watch section but do everything else.  Swagbucks is awesome, and the great thing is that you can start right now, as long as you qualify, of course.

That’s going to wrap it up.
