testerup Review: Earn Up to $120 per Test?

Some of the links may be from a sponsor. Advertising Disclosure

Testerup is one of the many apps on the Google Play Store that pays you to “test” or complete offers.  According to the company, they have more than 20 jobs after registration, some of which can pay up to $120 per test.  That’s quite the claim, but is it true?

If you like money-making apps and you want to find other ways to earn with your phone or maybe you want to know more about Testerup because you came across it online, this is the review for you.  I will warn you that you will never make a lot of money, but you can earn something.  This may be the case here.

In this review, let’s talk all about testerup.  I will explain how much you can earn, how the app works as well as if it’s worth your time.  As always, 100% honest.

What is Testerup?

Back in the day, this app was known as Testery, but it has since changed to Testerup.  The app was designed as a way to make money whenever you test apps or games, and in exchange for your time, they will reward you with gift cards or PayPal cash.  It’s one of the many apps that work just like this.

The app is operated by aestimium GmbH, which seems to be a reputable app developer based in Hamburg, Germany.  They were founded in 2017 and only run one money-making app.

While the company seems legit at first, the app doesn’t seem to be all that unique since there are hundreds that work just like it.  The true question is if this is the one to consider.

How Testerup Works

To start earning money with Testerup, the premise is simple.

You will sign up for an account, try out new games and then complete the missions to earn credits, in which you can cash out for a variety of rewards.  Everything that you need to know will be noted within the app.

In this post, as in all of my reviews, I’m going to explain how you can earn money on the app.

Signing Up

First, to sign up for an account, you will have to do so by either connecting your Facebook or Google account, whichever you prefer; however, you can use your email address if you don’t use the two accounts mentioned.

The process takes maybe 20 seconds at most and you can access your earning opportunities almost immediately.

The app is open to all over 18+ and is only available via Android and iOS.

It’s 100% free to do so.

Testing Games to Earn Money

The main way to earn money with the Testerup app is simply by downloading new games and then meeting the mission quotas.  When you create an account, your dashboard will look something like this:

At the time of this review, you can see that there were more than 45 offers, totaling more than $2,800 in value.  It’s as easy as browsing the list of games/apps and then choosing one that seems the most interesting.

To start earning, you will want to click on an app of interest.  That screenshot you see above can scroll for quite a while.

So, let’s say you want to try out that Family Island game that would pay you up to $210 in rewards.  You would click on that Go button and you would see the following:

This would show you what you have to do to earn the reward.  For example, if you reach level 18, you get $3, etc.  If you reach level 50, you get another $40.

This can sound good at first, but remember that some of these goals can take forever.  In this case, we don’t know how long it would take to reach level 50.  What if it took you all week and you invested 40+ hours.  Would that be worth $40?  Probably not.  Usually, you can get a vibe right away as to how fast it will take to reach that goal.

Make sure that when you do download the app/game that you follow the in-app link so that it can track you.

You will be able to see that link in the same screenshot as noted above.  Failing to use this link will not allow you to track the progress.

All of these apps will have requirements and will take some time. Usually, it isn’t worth your time, but some apps may be worth it if you know how to reach the levels quickly.  Other than that, you may expect less than a dollar an hour on average.

Premium Tester

As you can test apps/games, you can earn more “benefits” as a premium tester.

As you can see, if you were to complete 5 “Premium Missions,” you can get more jobs, better paying jobs, etc.

It may sound lucrative, but from my research, it doesn’t seem like it’s worth your time.

How Much Can I Make?

You will see 20 to 40 apps at any given moment, many of which will pay $40 to $200+.  While it sounds tempting, you will not make much when you break it down hourly. I can’t stress this enough.  Plan on averaging maybe $1 to $2 per hour if you find the right app.  It can be even worse than that if you get one of those annoying apps.

Getting Paid

Once you earn at least $70 in credits, you can cash out via PayPal, and they say that they pay within 24 hours.  This is the only reward at the moment.

Now, the thing is that the $70 is the highest threshold I have ever seen, making it one of the highest in the industry.  And, seeing these apps will take a long time to earn your reward, it will take you a long time to earn that $70.  Keep in mind that most of these GPT-like sites only require you to earn about $1 to $5 before cashing out.

The Pros:

  • get paid to try new games
  • easy to use
  • open worldwide
  • PayPal
  • quick payments

The Cons:

  • $70 minimum threshold (one of the highest)
  • some games will take a long time for you to earn
  • some apps require you to invest your money to rise in the ranks
  • poor customer service
  • won’t make much

Final Thoughts

1/10In the end, I will say skip out on Testerup.  It’s a legitimate company but you’re going to waste so much time playing these games only to earn a few dollars.  It’s not going to be a good hour-to-earn ratio.  You can make some money, sure, but it’s going to take you FOREVER to earn that $70.  That’s a deal breaker to me.

If you want to test out games, it can be done, but I would recommend this option.  Instead, check out my guide to see the many alternatives that don’t require a $70 minimum.

That’s going to do it for now.
