Volkno Review: Watch, Earn Amazon Cards

volKno works with top content creators and needs people like you to let the studios know what you want to see and how you want to see it.  If you want to get paid to rate videos for new movies and TV shows, then this could be a potential way to make some money on the side.  However, like the many ways you can make money online, it’s not always as great as it seems.  This could be the case here.

In today’s review, let’s talk about volKno.

How much can you make?  How does it work?  Should I even bother?

Whether you have heard about it or you want to get paid to watch videos, let’s see if this is worth your time.  As in all of my reviews, I’m always 100% honest, only recommending what I feel is worth your time.

Signing Up

To sign up for an account, the process is relatively simple, as all they ask for is your email address as well as a password.  You can connect your Facebook account, too, if that’s what you want.

Once you do this, you can access your dashboard immediately.

At the moment, it’s only available to users older than 13 and who reside in the United States.  If you live outside of the U.S., you will not be able to join.

Your Dashboard

After you hand over your email, this is what your dashboard is going to look like:

As you can see, you will see a variety of movies/shows, in which you can filter as well as your “flow,” which is the currency you can earn to eventually cash out for an Amazon gift card.

To earn “flow” on the site, you will be asked to rate your emotions, etc while watching the clips.

For example, in that screenshot, you could see that I could rate in a variety of ways as the clip played.

Most of these clips will be about a few minutes long and you will just have to rate as you go to, again, earn flow.  This is how you’re going to make money using the site.

The great thing is that most of the movies/shows you see on your dashboard are quite popular, so there is a good chance you have heard of many of these.  Plus, they seem to add clips all of the time.

How Much Can You Earn?

How much you earn will greatly depend on the clip’s length or a survey if you plan on taking a survey.

From my experience, however, you can earn about 60~ total flow for every clip you rate.

As for surveys, this can vary anywhere from 500 to 3,000+ flow per survey.

For example, this is what my dashboard looked like for surveys:

I had three available, which totaled 4000 ($4) in value.  Like most survey panels, these surveys can change at any moment, which means you can see some or none at all.  It will just depend on the time of year.

To put it in perspective, you will have to watch about 80 clips to earn $5.  With each clip being about two minutes, that’s 160 minutes, about three hours for $5.  Worth it?  Meh.

What is the flow worth?

When you’re ready to cash out, you will need at least 5,000 flow to start the redemption process.

Right now, every 1,000 flow will be $1 in value, which means a $5 Amazon gift card will set you back 5,000 flow points.

Amazon is the only reward option at the moment, so if you’re looking for something else, you will have to go elsewhere, unfortunately.

Be Warned!

Lastly, I wanted to mention a few complaints I found on the BBB website.

Some people were complaining about being unable to cash out after accumulating enough points as well as poor customer service.  A few noted they never received postcards with verification codes.

This was just a small sample, but there were a few complaints I wanted to note.

Final Thoughts

0/10In the end, you will have to watch a TON of shows to earn $5 in rewards.  If you love the idea of making $1 per hour and rating TV show clips, then sure, sign up.  However, 99.9% of us will find it’s not worth your time.  This definitely isn’t one of the best ways to earn money online, and it’s the reason why most people don’t talk about it.  Even if the pay was mediocre, I found the tasks to be quite boring after one or two.

That’s going to do it for now.

As always, if you want to comment on your experience, then you’re more than welcome to do so in the comments below.
