BananaBucks Review: Here’s What I Think

BananaBucks is a money-making app that pays you cash, not points, for simply taking surveys.

Whether you’re looking for a new survey app or maybe you heard of BananaBucks , you may be wondering if it’s worth your time.  Since there are a ton of survey apps out there, it’s important to have the right ones on your phone.

In today’s app, I wanted to talk about the somewhat popular BananaBucks app.

Can you make money?

Do you get paid?

As in all of my reviews, I’m always 100% honest, only recommending what I feel is worth your time.

What is BananaBucks?

BananaBucks is one of the many survey apps designed for your phone.  Simply download it, sign up and then start completing surveys to get rewarded.  Yes, it’s as simple as it sounds.

The app is operated by Kowzha, which is an LLC based in Casper, Wyoming, but  I couldn’t find much in regards to who operates it business wise. That isn’t a deal breaker necessarily as I have run into this problem many times before.  All I know for now is that they are an Android developer that runs two other apps, SurveyMagic and SurveyParty.

For now, it seems like they are legitimate, however, is it worth it?

Signing Up

To get started, you can download the app either on the Google Play Store or App Store.

The unique thing about BananaBucks is that you don’t necessarily need to sign up in the beginning, as you can get started immediately after it’s downloaded.  I have seen this before, but you will have to hand over information, usually when you want to cash out.  In this case, you will have to sign up if you want to take more surveys on the other tabs.

It appears that anyone can sign up worldwide, however, where you live will greatly dictate how many surveys you see.  Your results will vary.

Earning Money

After downloading, you will be presented with a dashboard that looks something like this:

You will be presented with a variety of surveys, as well as what you will make and how long it will take you.

So, for example, that “Ridesharing Apps” survey will take you two minutes and you can earn $0.20.  This is about the standard for a survey such as this.  Now, remember, you will never get rich, so don’t expect much when you’re using any of these apps.

As you use the app, the surveys will always refresh, and you will see that most surveys will pay anywhere between $0.10 and $2, which is typical for most surveys.  You won’t qualify for all of them, either.  So, if you do see a survey, don’t assume you’re going to make the money specified because you have to “qualify” for these surveys.

If you have ever been part of a survey site, they work in the same way.  You will click on it, qualify for it, and then, if you do, you will continue to take it for the reward.  Sometimes, the annoying part is that the qualifying process can be long.

When you sign up for the first time, they guarantee a $1 survey, which you can see in the screenshot above in purple highlighted survey for $1.50.  From there, nothing is guaranteed.

Share Your Location and Earn

The unique thing about BananaBucks is that they will pay you $0.05 every time they can send you a location based on a push notification.

All you need to do is turn on your “allow location access” and “allow push notifications” to start earning.

Depending on where you go will dictate how much you earn.  If you never go out, don’t expect notifications; however, if you’re always around town in different places, you may see a few a week or month.  It won’t make you much, but it can be a few cents here or there, I suppose, for doing nothing.

How Much Can I Make?

As with most survey apps/sites, don’t expect to make much.  This is the

I played around with this app for a few days and figured I could make maybe $1 to $2 a day by logging in frequently.  I wouldn’t say it’s bad nor would I say it’s great.  I would put it in the middle.

If you were to log in every day and play around with it for an hour, I don’t think you could make more than $50 a month

Rewards

The nice thing about BananaBucks is that they simply pay you cash, not points like the so many competitors out there.

To cash out, you will need at least $5 to do so, and when you’re ready to do so, you can choose from PayPal, Visa, Amazon as well a few gift card options.

The threshold is low enough that you can cash out fast and the rewards are good enough as most people want PayPal or Amazon.  No complaints here.

The payouts are relatively quick, with most reporting payments within 24 to 48 hours.

Pros:

  • app is very easy to use and navigate
  • some users found the app to be more enjoyable in comparison to others
  • lots of reward options
  • $5 minimum

Cons:

  • some users had trouble withdrawing money
  • some users have had trouble with survey redirects
  • many survey disqualifications
  • survey glitches, such as misleading information and times

Final Thoughts

6/10BananaBucks is very simple to use and seems to be okay.  You won’t get rich, of course, but it’s one to at least check out to see how much you can earn.  In the survey world, your demographics matter, so you may have much more luck than myself or someone else.

If I had to rate it, I would put it in the middle.  Not the best or the worst.

With a low payout threshold, you should be able to meet it fast, and seeing surveys are always being added, you may even be able to do it by the end of the day, who knows?

That’s going to wrap it up.
