If you’re trying to find the best URL shortener to make money, then you may find out that there are a ton of options out there. Like anything, there are some bad companies; however, there are some that can be worth your time.
And, if you’re not familiar with a URL shortener, the premise is simple. You “shorten” a link using one of the websites mentioned below and then share that link as you normally would. Whenever someone clicks on this shortened link, you will get paid per click, usually less than a penny or so. The only downfall is that the person who does click the link will have to watch a short ad, which can be annoying to some.
As you can imagine, this can be a great opportunity to share these links on your blog or maybe even on social media. However, it’s imperative that you pick out the right company since some don’t pay and others tend to overestimate what they can offer you.
If you don’t mind people watching an advertisement whenever they click a link, it’s something to consider, however, I wouldn’t count on making a lot because most only pay out a few dollars per 1,000 clicks/views.
Best URL Shorteners to Earn Money
In the post below, I list as many URL shorteners as possible that can earn you money whenever someone clicks on your link. Keep in mind that it seems like a lot of these companies work with the same provider so you won’t find much in terms of uniqueness among the many mentioned.
NOTE: I don’t have a particular favorite, so these companies are listed in alphabetical order.
Adf.ly
minimum payout: $5
Adf.ly is probably one of the oldest and most well-known option on the list with more than five million registered users.
All advertising seen here is family friendly and they promise no popups or malware will be found. This is a common complaint among these companies, and it’s important to ensure the links that are followed are showing ads that are virus free as well as friendly. Remember, you will have to watch an advertisement every time someone clicks your link.
Payouts start at $5 and they pay out via PayPal or Payoneer.
- Website: Adf.ly
AdFoc.us
minimum payout: $10
AdFoc.us is a free short URL redirection service that pays up to $22.50 per 1,000 views. You can also earn 20% of your referral earnings. The nice thing about this company is that it’s much different than the many I mention here. What I found is that a lot of these companies use the same script, so you’re not going to find much in terms of uniqueness.
You need at least $10 to cash out and they pay out monthly once you reach this threshold. PayPal and Bitcoin are both options to choose from.
- Website:
BCVC
minimum payout: $10
All advertising through BCVC is strictly family safe and all ads are scanned 24/7. You only need $10 to cash out, in which you can choose from PayPal or Payoneer.
If you do choose BCVC as your main option, they offer a selection of scripts you can install on your website as well as an interactive dashboard to keep tabs on your clicks. Depending on the country where the visitor comes from, payouts can range from $0.10 to more than $15 per 1,000 clicks.
- Website: BCVC
Clicksfly
minimum payout: $3
Clicksfly pays up to $150 per 10,000 views, which is about average in comparison to the sites mentioned here. They have more than 430,000 registered users, which would put them in the middle in terms of popularity.
The nice thing about Clicksfly is that you only need $3 to cash out, which is very low compared to the competitors, and they pay out via PayPal, Paytm or Bitcoin.
- Website: Clicksfly
Clk.sh
minimum payout: $4
Clk.sh is a smaller site with fewer than 100,000 users, but it’s one to at least check out. The payout rates seem to be in that $3 to $7 range, which is similar to most on the list.
You will need at least $4 to cash out, and you can choose from a variety of payout options, from PayPal to Payeer, AirTM, Perfect Money and UPI.
- Website: Clk.sh
Exe.io
minimum payout: $5
Exe.io will pay you in three easy steps. Just create an account, shorten your links and then earn money every time someone clicks on it. Pretty standard.
The payout rates, much like the many noted here, range anywhere from $3 to $8 per 1,000 reviews. This will depend on the device being used as well as the user’s country.
Payouts start at $5 and you can choose from PayPal, Airtm and Bitcoin, to name a few.
- Website: Exe.io
Linkspy.cc
minimum payout: $10
Linkspy.cc says that you can increase your website profit by up to 100% if you use their service, and they will also help you maximize your financial results, automatically managing your traffic to reach the highest rates possible.
Play around with the calculator on the website linked below to see how much you can potentially earn with your website traffic.

Linkvertise
minimum payout: $10
Out of the many I list, I would say Linkvertise pays out the most per click, paying up to $70 per 1,000 views. The average, however, seems to be in the $10 range. While the company heavily advertises toward a German-speaking audience, it’s open to more than 185 countries.
When you sign up, you can track your link progress on the company’s optimized dashboard, giving you the perfect view of your earnings. Payments are sent out daily once you hit $10 in earnings, either to your bank, a Paysafecard or as an Amazon gift card code.
- Website: Linkvertise
Ouo.io
minimum payout: $5
Ouo.io is said to be the top 3 URL shortener in the world. Is it true? I’m not sure, but the stats do note they have more than 1.3 million members, which definitely puts them near the top.
Like all of the options mentioned here, you will need to create an account and then start creating your links. Every time someone clicks on it, you can then get rewarded as long as the person who clicks watches the ad.
Payouts start at $1.50 per 1,000 views, maxing out at about $5, which seems to be about the industry average.
- Website: Ouo.io
SafelinkU
minimum payout: $5
SafelinkU pays out to all countries via PayPal, bank transfers as well as cryptocurrency options such as Bitcoin once you hit $5 in earnings.
Payout ranges seem to be in the $3 to $9 range per 1,000 views, with a “view” counting as one IP address visit per 24 hours. This seems to be the standard in this industry.
- Website: SafelinkU
Shorte.st
minimum payout: $5
As I write this, Shorte.st has more than 1.5 million earning users, ranging from blog owners to social media members. Every day, the website processes millions of links, so it’s definitely one of the bigger options on the list.
When you sign up, the company will provide you with complete stats as well as access to website scripts and widgets to help you monetize your visits.
They do accept clicks from all countries, but the United States and United Kingdom tend to pay out the most at about $10 to $14 per 1,000 views. Spanish speaking countries will see rates in the $0.50 to $3 range. You can follow the link below to see the highest payouts at the moment.

Shortzon
minimum payout: $5
What I realized in doing this research is that a lot of these URL shortener websites use the same script, so what it really comes down to is choosing one with the best reputation and the lowest payout threshold.
Shortzon has a similar layout to the many noted here and the rates were the same as well. The biggest difference, however, is that they pay a $3 CPM minimum, which was nice. You only need to $5 to cash out and payments are sent weekly to PayPal, Paytm, Payeer, Bitcoin and more.
- Website: Shortzon
ShrinkEarn
minimum payout: $4
ShrinkEarn is said to be the highest paying URL shortener, but who doesn’t say it? This was found on almost every site I researched on the list, but in looking at the publisher rates, I didn’t see much above average, as the rates were in the $3 to $8 per 1,000 range, on average. Again, it would greatly depend on where your visitor was coming from when clicking.
The nice thing about ShrinkEarn, however, was that you could earn 20% of your friend’s earnings if you were to refer them to the site and they started to share links. Referral programs were few and far between with these types of sites.
- Website: ShrinkEarn
ShrinkMe
minimum payout: $5
Right on the main page, ShrinkMe claims you can earn up to $300 per 10,000 views. And, sure, while this sounds like a lot, remember that “views” equal clicks, so 10,000 people would have to click on your link to earn that much. Unless you go viral, this is going to be tough, however, don’t let me deter you in signing up for these sites because the clicks can add up.
ShrinkMe pays about $1 to $8 per 1,000 on average, much like the many URL shortener sites I mentioned here.
- Website: ShrinkMe
Shrtfly
minimum payout: $5
Depending on where your traffic comes from, Shrtfly can pay you up to $21 per 1,000 views, however, the average seems to be in the $3 to $5 range, which is about average for this industry. To be considered as a “click,” users must be unique, visit your page for more than 10+ seconds and have JavaScript/cookies enabled.
Shrtfly pays out via a variety of ways, from Paypal to Paytm, UPI, Payeer and even wire transfer. Payouts start at $5.
- Website: Shrtfly
Smoner
minimum payout: $3
Smoner offers a 10% referral bounty as well as a very low $3 minimum payout whenever you shorten your links with them.
They have more than 65,000 registered users, which isn’t much, but they do seem to be legit from what I read.

Final Thoughts
All of these sites work in the same way.
Just create an account, shorten your links and then promote it as you would the link in the first place. The problem with these link shorteners, however, is that a lot of social media platforms can often mark these link shortening companies as spam, so you may not be able to post them or the user will see a warning. Be sure to keep that in mind when using these shorteners.
In the end, you can make about $2 to $8 per 1,000 clicks, and unless you can receive thousands of clicks, I don’t find them to be worth it. For one, the user has to watch an ad, which often makes a user close the link immediately and a lot of platforms ban these companies anyway. If you’re going to use it on your website, then people will think differently of you as they have to watch ads whenever you link out to something. This is going to take a lot away from what you’re trying to do in the first place.
If you are interested, though, be sure to check out the many mentioned above as there is a lot to choose from. If you do end up using one, just make sure you’re well aware of the rules to ensure you get paid.
That does it for now.
As always, if you want to comment on the companies mentioned or you want to add to the list, you’re more than welcome to do so in the comments below.
