If you love playing games on your phone and you want to earn some rewards in doing so, there are a lot of options out thereHowever, the problem with most of these options is that they don’t pay all that much.  While they do pay, you will be lucky to make more than a few dollars per hour.

If you’re okay with that and just want to play games and earn some cash, then these apps may be for you.

In today’s review, I wanted to talk about the very popular app, Cash Alarm. It has more than 10,000,000 downloads and an okay 4.3/5 rating on the Google Play Store.

As in all of my reviews, I tested the app and will report my findings below.

Let’s begin!

What is Cash Alarm?

Cash Alarm is only available for Android devices and the app pays you with PayPal cash as well as gift cards whenever you play the games found within the app.

If you have ever played a “get paid to download game-like” app, then you probably already know how it works.  However, if you don’t, the premise is simple.  You will download a game from the app, follow the prompts, and then, once you complete what’s expected of you, the rewards will post to your account.  Don’t worry, as I will talk about how the app works in detail later on.

For now, let it be known that the app is legitimate and they do pay if you decide to download the app.

How to Make Money

When you download the app (remember, only available for Android), you will be asked to accept their terms as well as connect with either your Facebook or Google account.  You can create an account on the app as well if you wish.

Once you grant permissions, which is required to track your activity, you immediately start earning on the app, which includes apps, games as well as surveys.

Let’s talk about each one below…

Making Money Playing Games

The main way to make money via the app is simply by downloading and playing games.

As you can see, there’s a featured section on your main dashboard as well as a subsection you can click on as well, which is titled, “Earn with games.”

If you were to click on that, then it would take you to a screen that looks something like this:

The list goes to a third-party offer wall, which you can find on just about any app that works like this.  These offer walls provide the apps with the earning opportunities and then the app, such as Cash Alarm, will split the profits with you.  Put simply, these offers can be found on a lot of other apps.

No matter where you click, it will all work in the same way.

You will click on a game of interest, see what you need to do and then complete that task to earn the coins.

So, let’s say we clicked on that “Fishdom Solitaire” game seen above.

If we did, you will see that you will need to reach level 50 to earn 249 coins and level 750 to earn 24445 coins.  This is how almost all of these apps work.

Now, the question is if it’s worth your time.

How long does it take to reach level 50?  10 minutes or 10 days?

Also, how much are the coins worth?  I will get into that in a few, but let it be known it’s not much.

NOTE:  Remember, you have to allow the app to track you via the permissions.  If you don’t open the apps within this app, you won’t get credit.

Make Money Downloading Apps

Like the games, you can also click on the “earn with apps,” and this works the same way as downloading games.

Simply browse the list and then choose an app that makes the most sense to you.

If you complete the action, you get rewarded.

So, if you “do a simple registration” for Kikoff, you can earn 3,941.  Just make sure you click on the app for more details to see what’s expected of you.

Make Money with Surveys

Lastly, you can earn money with surveys, which, like the games and apps, just use a third-party offerwall called BitLabs.  I have covered this particular third-party offerwall many times and found nothing unique about it.  While the panel is fine, there are many more options out there to consider.

If you were to click on the surveys and take them (I don’t recommend this), you can earn coins for every survey you complete.

Now, you won’t always qualify for every survey you click on, so don’t be discouraged if you find out you only qualify for maybe 10% of those you’re interested in.

If you do the surveys, make sure you pay close attention to the time it takes as well as what it pays. Make sure these surveys are worth your time.

Cashing Out

When it comes time to cash out, you will find that they don’t have the best offers.

For example, when I was writing this, they only had coupons, but they have had PayPal in the past.  However, if they do offer PayPal, every 10,000 coins are worth about $1 in PayPal cash.  You only need $0.20 in points to cash out, however.

As you can see, when you add up the numbers seen above, it’s going to take you a long time to earn money.  That’s if they even have the PayPal option.  If they randomly add it, I don’t like it because I want to see ALL of my rewards in the beginning.

How much can you make?

Honestly, don’t expect much.

If you were to make more than $5 a month, I think you’re doing good, but I think this can be said about most of these apps.

With most of these gaming apps, you will earn less the more you play, which is always a surprise to most.  Also, keep in mind your geographical region can play a factor, too.

The Pros:

  • low cash out threshold
  • some games may be okay

The Cons:

  • low earning potential
  • not a lot of games are always being added
  • PayPal isn’t always an option

Final Thoughts

4/10I’m usually not a fan of these apps, mainly because you won’t make much.  And, what I didn’t like is that they didn’t even have the PayPal option when I was playing around with it.  That’s a huge downfall.  I don’t think I will play games just to earn a coupon for some store I never heard of.

Most of the games are annoying, there’s nothing unique and you won’t make anything.  I’m talking $1 per hour if that.  If you’re happy with that, then sure, sign up.  If not, there are a thousand+ more ways to make money online.

That’s going to do it for now.
