CashBox App Review: What is it?

The CashBox app, operated by CashBox Limited, has more than 100,000+ downloads and an okay 4.2/5 rating on the Google Store.

According to the app’s description, you can earn cash simply by “opening boxes” and have fun in doing so.  I have to say that this is very intriguing to me as I have never heard of an app that works like this, but as I always like to do, I wanted to dig deeper to figure out how it works.

If you have been here before, then you already know that I love to just present it how it is.  I will tell you what you should expect from it as well as if it’s worth your time.  As in all of my reviews, I’m always 100% honest, only recommending what I feel is worth your time.

So, if you have heard about CashBox before and want to know more about it or you’re looking for other apps to help you make money, let’s see what this app is all about.

How CashBox Works

The minute you download the app, you can immediately start earning money.  And, to start doing so, you will have to open the boxes and earn free rewards.  It will let you go through a quick tutorial if you want to see how it works.

As you open the boxes, you will simply watch videos and then earn free chests in doing so.  Now, the thing is that I have researched the many ways to make money watching videos, but what you will soon find out is that they pay peanuts.  I’m talking a few cents per hour.  In my life of researching, I have never found a way to make money watching videos and actually make it worth your time.  So, seeing that videos are involved with this app is making me discouraged, unfortunately.

Aside from watching videos, you can check in and receive $0.10 in rewards.  As you can see in that screenshot, you will see your rewards disappear if you don’t check in after 30 days.

Earning Money

So, to start earning money, it’s as easy as checking into the app or clicking on the gift box to earn your reward as mentioned.

This is what your dashboard is going to look like:

If I were to check in, for example, then I would earn $0.10 today, $0.15 tomorrow and so forth as long as I keep the streak alive.

Now, if I want the gift box, I would click on the “open” button to start your quests.  If it’s your first time, you will have to connect your Google account to start using it.

Once you connect your account, you will see a variety of things you have to do to complete the missions.  This can include “merging” what looks like puzzle pieces as well as opening chests.  Mainly, you’re going to watch videos as you use the app and this seems to be extra busy work to make it feel that it’s more than just watching boring advertisements.  The missions are easy, but it’s not as hard as you think.  It’s just watching videos.

Throughout the day and week, these missions will always change, but they will mostly involve puzzle pieces, collecting cards, etc.  Again, all of this usually revolves around watching ads and that’s about.  To open some boxes, you may have to watch multiple videos to do so, but the app will always let you know how many you need to watch to complete the box.

How Much Can You Make?

How much you’re going to be able to make will depend on how many missions you do as well as how often you log in.   The boxes are random, too.

As you can briefly see in the screenshot above, watching a video will earn you a few pennies, whereas checking off the list on the missions page will earn you anywhere from a penny to more than $0.05, on average.  It’s not going to be much.

And, when I watched a few videos, they averaged about $0.01 per video watched, and the problem was that most videos would eat about 30 seconds of your time.

So, if you want to know how much you’re going to make, it’s not much.  Maybe $0.02 per minute if that.  Add in a few boxes that you open and I can’t see you making more than $0.50 in a day and that’s a lot of boring work!

Simply put, you won’t make much.

Payouts

To cash out, it’s as simple as earning $1.

Once you do so, you can cash out directly to your PayPal account.  It will take about 24 to 48 hours to receive your payout.

$1 is a relatively low payout for the industry and I don’t find it to be bad at all.

The Pros:

  • it’s a legitimate company

The Cons:

  • very slow earnings (takes a LONG time to earn your payout)
  • technical issues
  • limited rewards
  • some reported privacy concerns

Final Thoughts

1/10You will never make much with these watching video-like apps.  While it’s marketed upon “opening boxes,” it’s just a cute way to make money watching videos.  The boxes are filled with really bad rewards and you won’t make much.  If you want to watch videos and get paid pennies for your time, then sure, maybe it’s for you, but for the other 99.9% of us, you’re much better off completing surveys or doing something else with your time if you want to earn a few dollars here and there.  This isn’t it.  I know I’m not going to use it.

That’s going to do it for now.

As always, if you want to comment on your experience, you’re more than welcome to do so below.

For now, invest your time into something much better as this isn’t going to be worth your time.  I hope this helps.
