Coin Pop Review: Can You Get Free Gift Cards?

The Coin Pop app is one of the many apps that pay you to download games and then earn money for your time.  Simply put, you can earn real money playing games as well as a few other things.  All you have to do is download apps and then play them for a certain period of time to earn “coins,” which is the app’s in-house currency.

Now, the true question is if this app is worth your time.

The problem with so many of these apps is that they pay poorly, or in some cases, you can never earn enough to cash out.  Coin Pop may fall into this category, sadly.

Whether you’re looking for more information on Coin Pop or you’re looking for more ways to make money on your phone, particularly with games, let’s see if this is an app worth downloading.

Making Money with Coin Pop

When you download the Coin Pop app, you will have to connect your Google or Facebook account, as well as allow the app to track your activity, to start making money.  Once you complete this process, which takes about one minute at most, you can start earning coins immediately.  You will need to allow the app to track your progress so that they know what you’re doing in the third-party apps.  If they can’t track you, they can’t pay you.

They don’t say who can join, but it appears as if you can join from anywhere in the world.  As long as you have a PayPal account, you should be good to join.

As you can see, there are a few ways to make money, from playing games via the featured section to earning with apps, games as well as surveys.  Like the many money-making apps out there, they have a variety of ways you can earn money.

Let’s explore each category.

Earning with Apps

In this section, you can earn up to a certain number of coins whenever you complete an action.

Here, you can see a list of random apps, all of which update almost daily. You will find a variety of games, from strategy games to puzzles.  There’s a bit of everything and new apps are always being added.

In each section, you can see what you have to do as well as how many coins you can earn.  This is typical of the many “get paid to download” like apps.

For example, if we look at the “State of Survival” game, it says it’s a “multiple reward” which can earn me up to 95,765 coins.

And, to see what I need to do, I will need to click on the app to find out more information, which will look something like this:

If you upgrade your settlement to level six, you will earn 182 coins, whereas upgrading to level 16 will net you another 11,300.

Everything you need to know will be on this page, and as long as you follow these directions, you will get rewarded.  Just make sure the app is allowed to track your activity as this is the only way you can get paid.

Now, the rewards may sound like a lot, but it’s tough to tell how long it will take you to earn that reward.

For example, does it take you one hour to reach level 16 or hours?  I only mention this as some of these apps won’t be worth your time, but generally, you will know right away after playing around with it for a minute.

Earn with Surveys

In the surveys section, this app works with a popular survey router, BitLabs.  This company is used on a lot of apps, so what you see here isn’t unique at all.  To not bore you, this is a third-party company that provides an app, such as Coin Pop with surveys.  They then take the profits from BitLabs and split them with you.

It’s as simple as clicking on a survey and then completing it for the coins noted.

Keep in mind that you won’t qualify for all of these surveys.  In fact, plan on qualifying for only 20%~ of the ones you click on.

The app offers a variety of rewards; however, when I was writing this review, I didn’t see the PayPal or Amazon gift cards.

Instead, I only saw coupons from popular brands such as Timex, etc.  These rewards weren’t great at all.

However, in the past, I did see PayPal rewards that started at $0.50 per 5,000 points.  So, for every 10,000 points, you should earn about $1 in value.

Again, keep in mind that I didn’t see PayPal at the moment, but this can change.  At the moment, if you do download the app, make sure that you check the rewards section right away before wasting your time.

To cash out, you only need $0.50 in points, about 5,000 points, to cash out, but Amazon requires about $2.50 in points.  This is fairly straight forward for the industry and quite low.

The Pros:

  • free to join
  • low payout threshold
  • decent number of mobile games

The Cons:

  • rewards can be lacking sometimes
  • won’t earn much
  • only on Android

Final Thoughts

4/10The Coin Pop app is 100% legitimate, but I wouldn’t recommend it now, only because they don’t have great rewards up at the moment.  Even if they had PayPal, the games they had can be found almost anywhere else.  I feel if you’re going to download apps/games and get rewarded, you might as well go with the powerhouse in the research game, such as Swagbucks.  These companies tend to have much more power and can pay you more because of it.

That’s going to do it for now.
