Get Paid to Advertise Clothing (Yes, it’s Possible)

Some of the links inside this post may be from a sponsor. Advertising Disclosure

Today, there are so many ways to make money, both online and offline.

Some may pay you a few bucks, whereas other opportunities could turn into a full-time income.  Some you may have never even thought of such as wearing clothes for a company and making money.

If you’re laughing at the idea of it, let it be known that companies will pay you to wear their clothing, you just need to know where to look.   One man made $1,000,000.  Yes, that’s ONE MILLION dollars.  You can read about how he did it in his book, Creativity For Sale.

And, why do they do it, you’re wondering?

It’s easy.

Since businesses know you have to wear clothes, it’s great for raising brand awareness while you’re out and about.  In the past, companies used to reach out to celebrities for endorsements; however, this isn’t the case anymore as just about anyone can take advantage if you know where to look.

So, in today’s post, I wanted to talk about how you can make money wearing clothes and how you can find these opportunities right now.

How to Get Paid to Advertise Clothing

Create an eBay Listing

eBay is more than just buying tangible goods.  You can also post services as well.

For instance, when I wrote my get paid to get a tattoo post, I found quite a few people who posted a listing in hopes someone would bid.   One guy was willing to get a neck tattoo for $6,000!

While there’s no guarantee someone will bid on your auction, you can at least try.

As long as it’s priced right and you create a good sales copy, you never know what could happen.  Just let them know when you will wear it, how many people may see and how you plan on showing them evidence.

While I was writing this, I didn’t find too many listings, but it shouldn’t stop you from creating one.

Create a Fiverr Listing

Fiverr has a listing for almost anything, and like eBay, you can create your own listing if you so choose.  You can sign up in minutes.

As I write this, there were thousands of listings with people who were willing to advertise a product one way or another, including people who were willing to wear a shirt.

For example, here were a few I found…

Fiverr is a very powerful platform if you’re looking to sell any service, including advertising something for someone.  As it’s a competitive platform, there is a learning curve, but with the right marketing and patience, you can make quite the living with it.

You never know if someone is willing to send you a shirt and pay you to do so.  Again, like eBay, just make sure your listing is written in a way that people actually want to use you.

While succeeding on Fiverr deserves its own post, for now, I recommend the very popular book, The Fiverr Master Class: The Fiverr Secrets Of Six Power Sellers That Enable You To Work From Home.   This book will do a much better job explaining how you can succeed on this platform.

Influencers

If you have an Instagram, YouTube or even blog following, there are so many companies that are willing to send you a ton of freebies, including free t-shirts.

And, no, you don’t need a large following to take advantage as only a few hundred can suffice in some cases.  As long as your profile/website is authentic, honest and engaging, brands may consider you as an option.

To find these companies, there are a few things you can do.

For one, you can join platforms, such as Octoly or ForbloggersOnly, which find the companies for you.   You can also reach out to popular PR companies that work with influencers.  As there are quite a few, I would just recommend you Google it to see which one could work for you or even refer to these 15+ popular influencer agencies, courtesy of InfluencerMarketingHub.com.

Or, if you have the time to do so, you can reach out to t-shirt companies directly on social media platforms like Instagram.  As there are thousands upon thousands of clothing brands online, it shouldn’t be too hard to find one that fits your niche.  I found the most luck searching for hashtags.   When you find them, send them a message to see how you can collaborate and go from there.

Again, as long as you have an interactive following, this is one of the best options to snag some free t-shirts.

To get paid, most will simply ask you to take a picture, upload a post/video, and usually, that will meet the obligation.

Are You an Athlete?

If you’re an athlete, consider joining the OpenSponsorship platform, where brands can search for people like you.

Yes, you will need to have some sort of online presence, but like my Instagram tip mentioned prior, you don’t need a million+ followers to find success.

Joining is 100% free and only takes minutes to add your name to the database.

TeesPay.com

I found TeesPay.com in my research, but I wouldn’t hold my breath as it feels they haven’t updated in a while.  It appears they will pay you to wear t-shirts, but it really doesn’t go into depth as to how you will get paid.

Nonetheless, I will include it here as all they ask for is an email.  So, if you have a disposable email laying around, at least enter it to see what happens in the future.  Worst case, you never hear from them.

Final Thoughts

Getting paid to advertise clothing can be done, but from my research, I only think it can be done if you’re an influencer and have a decent engagement rate.  In this case, you’re best bet is to talk with a few of those PR agencies to see what they can do for your brand.  Again, you don’t need tens of thousands of followers to succeed.

As for those who aren’t influencers, your choices are limited, unfortunately.

While eBay or Fiverr could work, you will still need to promote yourself.  Even in the case of landing a client, you will probably only make $5 or $10 tops.  It’s really not worth it, and your time is better invested elsewhere.

In the meantime, if you are an influencer, then I would recommend you consider the marketing methods mentioned above.  It could work.  Other than that, you could try eBay or Fiverr, but don’t come after me if you’re not making any money.  I already warned you.
