In my never-ending research to make money online, I have come across a ton of “survey” companies. Some are fantastic, while some aren’t worth your time as they are in it for your credit card information. In my hunt, I came across a company by the name of SurveySay. I recently saw a job ad from them on the very popular SnagaJob.com website and wanted to know more about them.
At first glance, it appears to be a free portal that “matches you with companies that need your opinions.” And, with these matches, you can put extra cash in your pocket. It doesn’t sound promising right off the bat as they “connect” you with people rather than offer an opportunity.
Whenever I find a company that piques my interest, I feel it’s time to create a review so that I can hopefully help you better understand what the company is all about. Even if I’m able to help one person, I will feel good about doing this!
So, in this review, I wanted to talk about SurveySay and see if it’s really worth your time.
SurveySay Review
To get started with SurveySay, all they ask for is your date of birth as well as your gender. It took me 10 seconds to join. That’s it.
In the past, however, they did ask for more personal information, which, if they ever do this, I would highly recommend you avoid doing this to prevent your personal information from being sold.
Unlike a lot of survey companies that ask for your email address, personal information as well as ask you to fill out a personal profile, SurveySay didn’t ask for any of this. To me, that’s another red flag. Again, if they do ask, do not give in as it is not worth it!
Your Dashboard
After the 10 seconds it takes to sign up, you’re able to access the dashboard instantly, wherein you will see the following:
As you can see, it’s nothing but a simple list of survey companies you have already heard of.
All they do is link out to TWO companies that I already mention — LifePoints and i-Say by Ipsos. Of course, the ones they do mention are ones that often pay out a hefty commission rate. This may change in the future, but for now, just picture them as a middleman of sorts.
There’s nothing about the companies they list nor are there any reviews. It’s just surveys “based on your profile,” which, if you remember, was a whopping ONE QUESTION.
These survey companies are legit, but I would recommend a much better resource (like this one, of course!) to find out what you’re signing up for.
Who is SurveySay?
Aside from the few companies they recommend, they had a few links in the footer, particularly the terms and conditions, contact information and privacy policy.
Click on the terms and conditions, it appears they are operated by a company by the name of Varsityplaza, LLC.
In researching the company, they did appear to have a physical address based in Virginia as well as an A+ BBB rating. HOWEVER, they were not BBB accredited nor did they have any reviews. I think this resorts to an automatic A+. I couldn’t find a company website, but I did find a few trademarks they filed in the pas, as per Justia.com.
According to these trademark filings, it appears they own a few other related websites, such as BigSpot.com , SurveyPayoff.com and the Varsity Research Panel. There were other companies in other industries as well. I took a quick glance at the other websites mentioned and it appeared they worked just like SurveySay, offering nothing but a simple research panel list.
What Others Are Saying
Look up SurveySay reviews online and you won’t find anything pleasant as it doesn’t offer anything of value to survey takers. Many of the review sites I came across gave them a solid one out of five. It’s well deserved, however.
As with all of my reviews, I try to include a section to see what others are saying as well so that you can make your own informed decision. I will do the same here, even though there’s not much to include.
Since most people didn’t have anything positive to say, I feel I would just leave the many negative remarks I found online.
Here’s what they had to say…
- a ploy to sell your information (it appears they don’t ask for personal information anymore)
- waste of time
- no new information
- no way to make money on this site
It was pretty much everything I already had to say.
Is SurveySay Legit?
No. I’m going to say that SurveySay is not legit as all they do is push to you other survey companies that make them money. It’s a poor middleman of sorts. They offer nothing of value and just attempt to get your email address so that they can spam you in the future with other offers.
My review is one of the many you find online, and as you can see, I don’t have much good to say, if anything at all. Most other reputable sites don’t say nice things, either.
Final Thoughts
0/10While there’s nothing wrong with listing reputable survey companies, this website offers NO VALUE. It’s just a simple list of companies. That’s no good in my eyes. For that reason, you’re much better off finding highly-reputable surveys via this massive list or even from another website you may respect. It’s important that you know what you’re signing up for rather than just randomly clicking on research panels that are recommended by some random company. I prefer reading an in-depth review before signing up for anything.
The company isn’t a scam as they don’t collect any personal information, at least while I was writing this review, but I just feel they don’t offer value, so it’s not even worth the click, the main reason I’m not linking to them in this review.
In the end, I do not recommend SurveySay as you won’t find anything new here. Plus, you won’t be able to make any money as they are simply a website offering a list of survey websites that many others do.
There are so many other ways to spend your time online. If you want to make money, start with the very popular “make money” tab and go from there.
