TapChamps App Review: Why I Won’t Use it

TapChamps is one of the many games that rewards you to play games.  And, while these types of apps are legitimate, they will never pay you as much as you think.  I’m only talking about a few dollars a month.

Whether you’re looking for another way to make money with your phone or maybe you heard about TapChamps, I wanted to review the app and let you know exactly what I think about it.  As in all of my reviews, I’m always 100% honest, only recommending what I feel is worth your time.  Let’s begin!

Getting Started

To get started, you can only download it on the Google Play Store.  It isn’t available for iOS nor can you use your desktop, so, unfortunately, if you don’t have an Android device, you won’t be able to play.  You’re not missing out on much anyways.

When you do download, you can sign up with email, your Google account or Facebook.  You can also play as a guest, but you will eventually have to create an account if you want to cash out.  No matter how you download, you WILL have to confirm your phone number and no VOIP numbers are allowed.

The app is open to everyone worldwide as long as you’re 18+ years old.

Earning Money

Once you’re in, you will be able to see a list of games that you can start playing to earn rewards.

As you can see from the screenshot, there are a variety of games you can choose from, many of which you have probably heard of.

All you will have to do is click on one of interest to see what’s expected of you to start earning.  Generally, as long as you start playing, you can earn, but some games do work differently than others and that’s why it’s important to know what’s expected of you before you start playing.

As for what you can earn, it will be diamonds, medals, crowns and bonuses.  You can see these in the top menu, but I will briefly explain each below.

The diamonds are mainly what you need to focus on as this is what you will use to buy rewards, and the medals will help you earn bonus diamonds.  These bonuses are often specified in the game and let you know what you need to do to earn them.  You will always know how many diamonds and medals you can earn before you start the game.

The crown is your weekly contest section, which will allow you to enter the contests and win diamonds.  You can always click on your crown to see the upcoming raffles.

Lastly, the bonuses will earn you free diamonds whenever you play a certain number of minutes in a day.  The more you play in a day, the more you can earn.

Playing Games

In that screenshot seen above, let’s say that you want to play the “Dice! Merge Puzzle Master” and start earning diamonds.

If we were to click on it, you wouldn’t see much like most apps.

All you will see most of the time is “install game” and that’s it.  The problem with this is that most of your apps that work like this will at least tell you what you can earn.  This isn’t the case here and it’s more of a blind play it and see what happens.

How Much Can You Earn?

So, if you can’t see how much you can earn before you start playing, what will you earn?

From my experience playing, it’s going to take hours to earn $5 in rewards.  This is about 400~ diamonds.  When you do the math, you will find out that you’re making less than $0.25 per hour probably.  And, not only that, but you’re going to have to watch a ton of games while being annoyed playing the games.

I also want to note that most of these apps will lure you in the beginning, making it seem that you can earn a ton while you’re playing; however, as you level up,

As said in the introduction, you’re going to make much and the same can be said about the TapChamps app.

Rewards

When it comes time to cash out, you will need at least $0.50 in rewards (399 diamonds) to cash out via Amazon.  Other payout options are higher, however.

As I write this, payout options included the following:

  • PayPal ($5 – 1749 diamonds)
  • Amazon ($0.50 – 399 diamonds)
  • Google Play ($5 – 1749 diamonds)
  • Visa Prepaid ($5 – 1749 diamonds)
  • PlayStation ($10 – 2999 diamonds)
  • Xbox ($5 – 1749 diamonds)
  • Nintendo ($10 – 2999 diamonds)

All payouts are usually sent within 48 hours directly to your email.  Keep in mind that these rewards can change at any time.

The Pros:

  • good game selection
  • fast payout (24 hours or less)
  • good rewards to choose from

The Cons:

  • I read a lot of stories of people that got banned for no reasons
  • lots of ads
  • glitches/tech issues
  • tracking issues on some ads
  • limits on high-value games
  • game seems to be less rewarding as you progress

Final Thoughts

1/10In the end, I don’t recommend TapChamps at all.  The pay is low and I read so many horror stories that people invest hours of their time, only to find out that they get banned when it comes to cash out.  Shame on this company for doing that.

The customer service stinks, the information is very vague and I frankly think it’s a waste of time.

If you want to play games, it can be done, but there are much better options such as Swagbucks and Mistplay.  However, let me warn you that even these companies won’t pay much, but you can at least get assured you’re going to get your reward.

That’s going to do it for now.

As always, if you want to comment on your experience, you’re more than welcome to do so below.

  • I have to disagree with you on a couple things. You’re not going to get rich on any of these apps but I’ve made $215 on TapChamps and $75 was in my first month so there’s my electric bill paid. I’ve never had an issue with payout and customer service has always been on point. I have had a friend that was banned for whatever reason and that’s not cool but if you use a VPN you’ll get banned quickly. Lately the earning potential has gone down but if you play a lot of different games you’ll earn a little quicker. My goal is the weekly contest now. Winners are chosen “randomly”. Wish me random luck!

    • Hey, that’s great! There are some good game playing apps, and this seems to be okay. You’re right. You will get paid as long as you play by the rules, but people just need to be careful when using a VPN. You’re always playing with fire when doing so. I will wish you luck on winning the contest!
