25+ Easy Ways to Get Free Shampoo Samples (100% Free)

Some of the links may be from a sponsor. Advertising Disclosure

The Internet is filled with hundreds of freebie offers, some good and of course, some bad.  In fact, I have quite a few legitimate freebie posts, which you can all find here.

And one of the best freebies, at least in my opinion, are the samples I can use daily and actually take advantage of, such as soaps, shampoos, food and so forth.

So in today’s post, I wanted to share some tips and strategies I have used in the past that landed me quite a few free shampoo samples.

And no, you don’t need to whip out your credit card nor do you need to send in a self-addressed stamp envelope.  Surveys won’t be required to access the content, either.  I don’t work like that here.

If you’re looking for ways to snag some shampoo samples, both big and small in size, here are some tips you may want to try.

Free Samples of Shampoo by Mail (20+ Options)

PINCHme

PINCHme is an awesome (and very reputable) free samples service, and I cannot recommend them enough on my freebie posts.

To date, they have sent out more than 20 million samples from names you have heard of and have more than four million members.

Here’s how the service works

First, you sign up with the company and become what’s known as a “PINCHER.”  It’s 100% free to join and the company simply asks that you fill out your demographic profile so that they can send you targeted samples by mail.

Then, after you complete your profile and join, you can then choose the samples you want to be sent to your home.

While shampoo samples are commonly available, ranging from dry shampoos to baby shampoo brands, they do offer a variety of other samples from other big-name brands as well, such as food, perfumes, pet food and so much more.  You can see a full list of the samples they sent as of late on their website.

Now, the only kicker here is that you do need to offer the company feedback on the products, but it will only take a few minutes of your time.  To me, it’s really worth it since you can consistently get free samples in exchange for your review.

Again, it’s 100% free, so put your credit card away.

If interested, you can sign up here and hopefully get samples as early as next week!

BzzAgent

BzzAgent, much like PinchME, works in the same way, offering free samples from big-name brands, such as L’Oreal, Gillette, Unilever and many more.

And yes, you can sign up with as many of these websites that you want!  There’s no limit.

For example, according to P&G, one of the world’s leading consumer goods brand, they work with BzzAgent and provides its members with a variety of samples from its massive family of brands.

Signing up is 100% free and no credit card is required.

If you do sign up, just make sure you fill out the profile in detail so that the company can match you with the appropriate companies as failing to do so will lead to no sample opportunities and a lot of frustration.

And then, if you’re offered a sample, you can either accept or deny it.  You never have to commit if you don’t want to.

Finally, if you do receive a free sample via the mail, then BzzAgent simply asks that you offer your feedback so that they can pass it on to the company you sampled.

Again, if they like what you offer, then plan on receiving many more opportunities in the future.

VocalPoint

VocalPoint is similar to that of BzzAgent and Pinchme.  According to the company, it’s considered to be a “product-lover’s playground, where your voice has the power to impact brands and influence others.”

As a member, you can join for free and try out new product concepts such as shampoo samples.  After you test them, they just ask that you fill out a simple survey to let them know what you think of it.

While you won’t be guaranteed a free shampoo sample the minute you sign up, you can be invited to a number of other product samplings.

100% free to join.

Aveda

Aveda, both online and in store offers free shampoo samples, but if you plan on making a purchase online, you won’t get a free sample by filling out a form; however, many have had great luck simply asking for free shampoo samples at a beauty counter in person.

Now, if you do make a purchase online, the company almost always offers free samples with any purchase made online, and most of the time, you can find all of the offers currently available listed here.

So the next time you’re at an Aveda store or even making a purchase online, be sure to grab your free shampoo sample.

L’Oréal Paris

L’Oréal Paris, yet another popular shampoo brand, will offer you a free choice of samples, most often shampoos, as well as sample offers and the opportunity to preview products when you register for a free account.

Now, like many of these brands, they won’t send you a free sample right away.  Rather, they will alert you via the e-mail on your account when an opportunity arises.

Regardless, if you like the idea of free shampoo samples, then I highly encourage you to sign up with as many of these companies as possible to increase your chances at snagging a great freebie.

You can read more about how this very popular program works in our detailed review.

Pantene

If you’re a fan of the Pantene shampoo brand, then you’re in luck.

Members who fill create a profile here are instantly added to the database, where the company will send you exclusive coupons, free sample offers, promotions and so much more.

Now, before you get upset, creating this profile DOES NOT guarantee you a free shampoo sample right away.  Instead, it adds you to a database that simply alerts you when a free shampoo sample is available, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled when checking your e-mail.

Again, signing up is 100% free, so what do you have to lose?

Shea Moisture

NOTE:  Appears to be out of stock as of September 2019

Shea Moisture is an all-natural, organic beauty brand, striving to be sulfate free, paraben free and more, whenever possible.

On the official website, they do commonly offer free shampoo samples; however, you do need to be quick as these sample requests do fill up fast when available.

To take advantage, keep checking this page or consider joining their e-mail list for updates.

Consider Research Companies

I’m a member of a variety of research panels, some good, some bad.  [Be sure to check out the 80+ research companies I recommend via this post.]

And the awesome thing about these research panels is that not only can you make a few bucks every month answering simple questions, but in some cases, you can actually get free samples, including shampoo.

In the past, I do remember receiving a small sample via the company, e-Rewards.

Since they liked my demographic, they asked if I was willing to test out a shampoo sample and then offer my feedback a few weeks later.

So not only did I get a free sample, I got paid for it!

While I cannot guarantee you free shampoo samples via surveys, again, it’s a great option to consider, especially if you want to make $20, $50 or even $100+ per month helping big-name companies out.

With SO many companies out there, here a few I recommend if you want to get paid to help out some of the world’s most prominent research companies:

There are many more, so I do recommend you check out my top 80+ survey companies online via this post.

Take Advantage of Coupons

One of the easiest ways to snag free shampoo, at least in my opinion, is via a coupon match up.

The best part?

It’s a full-sized bottle, not a sample!

And if you don’t know how this works, let me explain.

Multiple websites online often “match up” coupons for the week to various retailers, essentially showing you what coupons you can use on top of a sales item to score a great deal.  In some cases, you can even MAKE money on your deal if you’re good enough.

In my opinion, my favorite coupon matchup website is the Krazy Coupon Lady, but there are hundreds of other websites online, with some even focusing on one retailer only.

A quick search can often yield some good results.  You can also check out the 40+ coupon websites I wrote about in the past as well.

Now, beauty products almost always pop up on these match up lists almost daily, and while they are not always free, you can score some pretty good deals, often paying as little as a few cents for a bottle of shampoo.

For example, while I was writing this, I could get two L’Oreal Elvive shampoos and/or conditioners for 100% free if I downloaded the Ibotta app and used the offer the app had along with a CVS “Extrabux” offer.

Of course, this is just one of the many examples, so I highly recommend you check out these coupon websites I have written about in the past to see if you can take advantage of a free shampoo bottle!

If you keep at it, I can almost guarantee a free bottle at one of the major retailers at least once a month.

Contact the Companies Directly

I cannot guarantee you that this strategy will work with all companies, but if you write to one of your favorite shampoo brands, either via mail or e-mail, there could be a decent chance they will send you a shampoo sample if you request it.

Worst case, they may even send you a coupon that is almost as good as getting the sample for free.

Since there are so many shampoo brands out there, look for the company’s contact information online, usually via a Google search, and simply write a nice, but short e-mail asking for a sample to test out one of their products.

This strategy will only take a few seconds of your time but could yield some decent results.

If considering, just don’t abuse the system!

Become a Beta Tester

In the past, I have written about the many ways to become a beta tester to receive amazing products from companies you have heard of.

And the process, much like the PinchME company I mentioned prior, works in the same way.

Just sign up for the company, wait for a sample offer, and in exchange, fill out a small questionnaire/form, offering your opinion on the sample they sent you.

And if they like your feedback, then you could consistently find samples in your mailbox.

While I do recommend you check out my in-depth beta test post, here are some companies you may want to consider if interested:

These companies are 100% free to join and do not guarantee samples, but if you fill out your profile in depth, it will increase your chances at the company wanting to send you a freebie.

Generally, these brands are looking for specific demographics to send their samples out to.

Again, 100% free to join and is a great way to sample items before the public is able to.

In Store Free Shampoo Samples

I know you’re probably looking for companies to send you free shampoo samples directly to your mailbox, but in my opinion, I think you will have the best luck if you visit a retailer in person, especially on the weekends.  Also, don’t forget to ask your salon as they are often loaded with samples from popular brands.

For instance, a few weekends ago, I was visiting Target and in the beauty section, a representative was handing out a handful of random beauty samples in the beauty department, all for FREE.  I talked about this strategy as well as a variety of other strategies you can use to snag free samples at Target.

Whether it’s a retailer like Target or even your favorite beauty brand store, such as Sephora, you might be surprised what kind of free samples you can find at your local retailer.

And even if you don’t see any free samples out on display, be sure to ask because you never know what they in stock behind the scenes.

While it’s not free shampoo samples, per se, we did write about strategies you can use to get free makeup and free perfume in the past.

If you take a glance at these posts, you may be surprised at how many retailers offer freebies just for walking through their door.

Additional Freebie Websites

In some cases, a brand will offer a free shampoo sample while supplies last.

And since I don’t have the time to update this page with these offers (sorry!), I wanted to recommend some websites that do, all of which you can see below:

Aside from these freebie websites, be sure to check out a post we wrote in the past on 40+ awesome freebie websites on the web.  If you’re into freebies like I am, I highly encourage you to check them out to see what freebies you can take advantage of!

Bookmark these websites and be sure to check them out daily.

Again, you will want to be fast because some freebie offers go in as little as a few hours in some cases!

Final Thoughts

In the end, I think the best way to snag a free shampoo right now is via the many third-party freebie websites I mentioned prior.  Just make sure you keep checking them out each day to see what’s available as the offers change ALL the time.

Just remember, however, if you want it, act fast because it’s usually in limited supply.

BUT, if you don’t mind waiting, many of the companies and direct links I mentioned will eventually net you a free shampoo/conditioner sampler, but again, patience is key.   Plus, don’t forget to fill out your demographic profile so that the companies can target you.

You may not get it today, but eventually, your stockpile of samples may begin to grow.

If you know of additional ways to snag a free shampoo sample, do let me know about it in the comments below!
